iPhone 12, 64gb, "Free" with port in and plan of $75 = $75
iPhone 13, 128gb, $49.99 with port in and plan of $75 = $125
iPhone 14, 128gb, $99.99 with port in and plan of $75 = $175
If you have a Visible line you can use a referral to get $20 off the $25 plan = $5 for the line and then you can port that into Metro.
Additional lines on Metro are $35 so add that to the cost of the phone above for the cost of additional lines. So additional iPhone 12 would be $35.
Various experiences on the success of adding lines to your Metro account, though. Some go through hell just trying to add one. Others can add three or four more.
Unlock does supposedly take a year now, and I don't think anyone can confirm yet that it will actually unlock if you get the plan/phone for the first month and then let your plan/account just die (because you don't set up auto-bill to renew after the first month unless you really want to) - but I don't think there's any reason to suspect it won't unlock.
That's the crux of it. Again, there are already a few posts existing, especially for the iPhone 12 deal, so your questions have been likely already been answered if you want to search those threads.

Trade in values are also very similar, with Apple offering $50 more for this (and it costing $50 more)

For us, it is for upgrading our phones and keep them as spares to get new 15 or 16 with these trade in. For that, 12 works the best as its the lowest phone model with the highest credit ($830 on Go5G+ or Go5G Next with T-Mo). Hoping that's at least until next version comes. We will then move to 13 as the base for such deals for future upgrades.
I wish this was the 14 plus. Would make it worth keeping for a year or two
thats pretty good.
i have old grandfather sprint plan.
8 lines. all unlim.
no free lines.
no phone discount.
pay in total ~175
If you are able to manage an Insider discount (20% lifetime), 3-line Go5G+ is $120/month and then you add BOGOs as they come along to bring the average down. Older plans with kickbacks are good for the monthly costs but phone prices are discounted only by 25-30% for trade in. There was a good deal just recently for new lines for such old plans. But they have been quite rare. ....
sadly i have none of those. was too late. was sprint customer while all those things were happening.
as u said, dont think we will see those types of deals again.
while i like the total i am paying.
im a little bummed that my plan will not qualify for any phone promotions.
