I think the various Metro iPhone deals should be merged because a lot of the questions are being asked in the different threads and they're mostly relevant to all of them.

iPhone 12, 64gb, "Free" with port in and plan of $75 = $75

iPhone 13, 128gb, $49.99 with port in and plan of $75 = $125

iPhone 14, 128gb, $99.99 with port in and plan of $75 = $175

If you have a Visible line you can use a referral to get $20 off the $25 plan = $5 for the line and then you can port that into Metro.

Additional lines on Metro are $35 so add that to the cost of the phone above for the cost of additional lines. So additional iPhone 12 would be $35.

Various experiences on the success of adding lines to your Metro account, though. Some go through hell just trying to add one. Others can add three or four more.

Unlock does supposedly take a year now, and I don't think anyone can confirm yet that it will actually unlock if you get the plan/phone for the first month and then let your plan/account just die (because you don't set up auto-bill to renew after the first month unless you really want to) - but I don't think there's any reason to suspect it won't unlock.

That's the crux of it. Again, there are already a few posts existing, especially for the iPhone 12 deal, so your questions have been likely already been answered if you want to search those threads.

If anyone cares, there is not much difference in Geekbench scores

I'd just get the iPhone 13 for $125 (similar deal from Metro as well). The phones are nearly identical, with the same processor.

Trade in values are also very similar, with Apple offering $50 more for this (and it costing $50 more)

Prices changed overnight for most Samsung devices it seems. Plan prices changed as well now. 13/14 still for 49/99.

Yeah, I've also noticed that. Looks like starting on April 24, in order to compete with other MVNOs, Metro has brought down prices for their monthly plans from $75/$65/$55 to $60/$50/$40. Now they have to recover prices of latest generation of phone from somewhere, so they bumped the prices of phones (except few).

Anyone know if port in to Metro and port out couple weeks after will the phone be compatible to use on another Metro account? Or best wait and let it expire?

If you port out, the account will cancel immediately, which will free up the IMEI and can be used on another account. If you wait until the plan expires, it takes another 30 days for the account to be canceled.

I knew about the 30 day part, good to know looks like porting is best course of action. Does Total Wireless take the metro as port?

So what is quickest way to port out from metro? Without buying another service, like a free or cheap esim I can activate so it cancels the account?

I bought the Iphone 13 for $49 and 1st month for $55. What is the cheapest plan I can downgrade to if I choose to keep the phone and use it on Metro, or can I actually port out my number to another carrier and will Metro charge me for cancelling service. I think since I paid for the Iphone and 1st month, it is mine to keep without being charged extra?

I know that you have to wait for a year to unlock, but do you need to keep their service?
