Why would you thumb down a deal that clearly says YMMV? Such behavior discourages others from posting items that may be available for some and not for others. Unless of course, you feel $1,999 isn't a good price for a $5,499 item, for those that can find it.

Bought 5 of them for my business all 5 broken with 6 months and no repair shop local that works on them which a waste of money I ended up buying Toro z turn replacements that have good customer service

It's slick cause of the price compared to what it normally sells for, not because of how it compares in your mind to another product

Just picked one up for $965.25 after military discount. It was marked down to $1399 due to missing batteries. Got them to drop it down to $999 by asking nicely. They found one battery when getting the charger and gave it to me without a fuss.
You only got 1 of 4 batteries?

Always store lithium batteries in climate control if you want them to last.
I have ryobi 18Vs that live in the garage in NJ. One 2A one died after a few years and the other 8 are all fine. It's also hard to keep my electric car in the house so that stays in the garage as well.

Mine just got delivered today. The driver was telling to look it over before he unloaded it. Told me they're so cheap because they have to clear our their old stock before they could order the new models. The three the had had been sitting for a year or two. Overall it did look good outside for the faded colors and rust on the handles. Mine came with 4 12AH batteries, clearly not newer than the mower, box had serious water damage and the two batteries in the bottom of the box have some mold on the casing. The batteries are dated Oct 2022. Unfortunately, it's below freezing so I couldn't charge up the batteries and see how it all works, and since I have about 6 inches of snow still on my yard, nothing to mow. I am so glad I bought the extended warranty in case this thing isn't fully functional.
And since I figured I wouldn't be able to get this thing to my shed out back I bought the cover and as others have mentioned, this cover is no cheap harbor freight tarp, it's a nice thick cover that feels like it'll hold up a good while. Don't feel completely ripped off paying $80 for it.

The extended warranty doesn't really cover batteries. They are consider "Performance parts". You only get a $100 credit per year for replacements.

Where did you get the tarp? I didn't get the extended warranty since I read that Lowes wouldn't cover battery for extended warranty only $100.
got the cover at Lowe's. EGO says they warranty the batteries for 5 years so I wasn't as worried on that part.

even in my garage, which is relatively climate controlled... man the Ego 4 and 5Ah lose charge just sitting there in the drawer. all my Milwaukee 12V/18V, DeWalt 40V/20V, Ridgid 18V hold charge perfectly fine over the winter...
rather odd.

Agree, all those "tips" are useless for a multi-cell pack with no advanced self-balancing circuits. They will divert over every use and "fade" quickly. Your mileage will always be the worst cell among all.

Just FYI, the EGO battery BMS will discharge to approximately 50% after a month or so. This is by design.
Bring one inside and set it somewhere that you'll see it. They will start flashing the green LED(s) which indicates that it's slowly draining to 50% for storage. Stopping this is as simple as pressing the button, using it in a tool or putting on the charger.
Just be aware that your batteries will all be around half charged once you need to use them in the spring & toss them all on a charger in the preceeding days and you'll be golden.

Visited my local Lowes. They had one of these in stock at $1,999. It was outside and looked as if it had been for a long time. Looked like a toy next to the other zero turns. I can't imagine this product was originally over $5,000. Be sure you ask before you buy, my Lowes has no one to repair any electric mower and cannot refer me to anyone who can. Good Luck with this one, not impressed even NIB would not buy.

Keep an eye out at Lowe's and Home Depot for craftsman/toro gas zero turns. I got my toro timemaster 42inch zero turn for $1700 because they "lost the key". Purchased a $3 key on Amazon and it started right up!
love this story...wish it was my story

I cant justify paying $1000 for the mower then paying $2000 for batteries then you need the charger then you still have a "old" mower...I know it sold for $5400 "new" but is that the reason there are so many EGO's still hanging around Lowes?

Considering I can get 3x 10ah batteries for a lot less than $1k, I got a great deal compared to what's posted. I also already have quite a few batteries so a "tool-only" version is favorable to me. Wish I could get the tractor version tool-only. Besides, I'm going to reach out with EGO and see if they'll do anything about the missing batteries.

There was a post regarding EGO warranty coverage for those mowers, EGO is not responsible for missing batteries.

Dont expect EGO to mop up Lowes' mess of the missing batteries as they have heard that story many times I imagine. I hope it works out for you and let the group know how you do
