Why would you thumb down a deal that clearly says YMMV? Such behavior discourages others from posting items that may be available for some and not for others. Unless of course, you feel $1,999 isn't a good price for a $5,499 item, for those that can find it.

Bought 5 of them for my business all 5 broken with 6 months and no repair shop local that works on them which a waste of money I ended up buying Toro z turn replacements that have good customer service

It's slick cause of the price compared to what it normally sells for, not because of how it compares in your mind to another product

Mine just got delivered today. The driver was telling to look it over before he unloaded it. Told me they're so cheap because they have to clear our their old stock before they could order the new models. The three the had had been sitting for a year or two. Overall it did look good outside for the faded colors and rust on the handles. Mine came with 4 12AH batteries, clearly not newer than the mower, box had serious water damage and the two batteries in the bottom of the box have some mold on the casing. The batteries are dated Oct 2022. Unfortunately, it's below freezing so I couldn't charge up the batteries and see how it all works, and since I have about 6 inches of snow still on my yard, nothing to mow. I am so glad I bought the extended warranty in case this thing isn't fully functional.
And since I figured I wouldn't be able to get this thing to my shed out back I bought the cover and as others have mentioned, this cover is no cheap harbor freight tarp, it's a nice thick cover that feels like it'll hold up a good while. Don't feel completely ripped off paying $80 for it.
Wonder why they would be ordering new models when they haven't been able to sell these as they have been sitting in stock for 4+ years?

FYI, the regular employees told me there was only one outside with a torn seat, but the manager checked his mobile device and said one was in a crate unassembled in the back. I didn't buy it, but it was obviously a better option if I was a buyer.
Cookeville, TN says 7 in stock, Crossville has 2 and I know one is in the crate still.

Dont expect EGO to mop up Lowes' mess of the missing batteries as they have heard that story many times I imagine. I hope it works out for you and let the group know how you do
Oh for sure, just a hail Mary shot. I don't expect them to do anything, nor do I feel entitled to anything. Worth a shot

I had one scheduled for delivery on Saturday then they called to move it to Tuesday then they called again to say it was a "used mower with no batteries". I called customer service, and they pretty much said there was nothing they could do about it. I was on a trip this week in an area with only one store within 100 miles, and it was out of stock at that store. It still showed as available for shipping in that remote location. When I asked where they source items for remote deliveries, the customer service person had no answer.

It sounds like this saga ended up being a bust for me. I think I'm going to return the one I picked up with four mismatched batteries (three working, one dead, none that match the serial number on the mower and thus no warranty), no charger, and plenty of deterioration due to weather. Congrats to those who scored new and/or workable ones with warranties.

There was a model with this deal in-store at my store. Certainly not a "the stores don't know about the price" sentiment, they just want to get rid of them because people don't want them. The one in my store seemed new but had mulch and stuff on it, clearly sitting outside in the weather for who knows how long

I have a large lot and considered this when buying the house but decided to go gas/John Deere for a few reasons:
1) the yearly maintenance kit is $50
2) like $3/mow on gas
3) John Deere mowers been around forever and a known quantity

So there's no real financial incentive here, especially considering battery replacement

That said, I own Ego everything else (replacing one battery I share between other things isn't a fiscal disincentive) and like the brand.

got the cover at Lowe's. EGO says they warranty the batteries for 5 years so I wasn't as worried on that part.
I think you need to register right? Did you get Lowes warranty?

Stopped by my Lowes as it showed up available and ready for pickup. The guys in lawn and garden said you might want to look at it first. It was under a sheet covered in bird droppings and the machine was even more covered. All batteries, chargers and manuals were missing too. Was so beat up that there was a good chance the motors would have major issues.

Received mine today. A little dusty but overall in new shape. Batteries were already installed (manufactured 2022) Charger still in box. Tried charging and the charger showed a single red light at first and the batteries did not light up. Single digits here in Indy so I brought in the battery and charger for about 2 hours. Next time charger had sequential green light and batteries lit up green. That lasted about 3-4 min before the charger went red, this time all three lights were red. Brought in the battery and charger for many hours to warm up this time. It charged up completely without any stoppage…

Lowe's is notorious about canceling orders. Luckily I got mine today too, aside from battery age (2021) condition was great. One of the batteries is flashing red and one won't light up, other two charged up good. Hopefully warranty will resolve the two bad ones so I'll be good to go for mowing season.

Are these among the many riding mowers, ATVs, and other large wheeled devices I see parked and kept outside in the rain, snow, sleet, and what-have-you in front of local Lowe's stores? As in, what could possibly go wrong from months of that?

Seen a few in my area, so yeah. People that need a riding mower really actually need it. And it's hard to find good deals on them. So sucks that we have people always looking to make a quick buck even on something people actually need. Look for the returns at lowes when they can't resell them.

even in my garage, which is relatively climate controlled... man the Ego 4 and 5Ah lose charge just sitting there in the drawer. all my Milwaukee 12V/18V, DeWalt 40V/20V, Ridgid 18V hold charge perfectly fine over the winter...
rather odd.
They self discharge after a couple of weeks to maintain itself. RTFM.
