Good comment. I had one and replaced the preamp because it ran too hot for me (even after dialing it down). Still a great bass at this price. Neck is very comfortable on these btw

I've got a Nordstrand clone I'm going to throw in mine. I actually like the stock preamp a lot on the first 4 strings, but the low B can overcome the preamp and make it farty. I've also considered an 18V conversion to get more headroom, but I don't know if that will fry the preamp.

I owned a passive Yamaha TRBX174 and looking for a next bass, since I already stick with learning bass for a few months, I know I won't abandoned this hobby and would like to treat myself another bass. My current wishlish is: TRBX504, BB434. Would this be a good 2nd bass, compare to the TRBX504 or BB434 I really like the logo and the unify look of the headstock and the neck. I probably can't tell the difference in sound even testing in person so I mostly make decisions base on how it look Frown. Any expert here, please tell me if this is worth it?

It's a better bass than any of those as far as I am concerned. I had an RBX374, and this is a way better bass than that.

It's basically a Fender Made in Mexico. It has a $60 Hi-Mass bridge. It's got a $180 pickups. It's got a neck that Warmoth could make you for $800. And despite being one of the best necks of any bass on the entire market, it isn't perfect since it isn't shielded in the control cavities, and that would cost $10 more to be one of the best basses ever made. You dont want it; it's terrible.

I'm no expert on bass setups so my frets could be imperfect for all I know. 😆 My only complaint so that the B string seems a little bit flubby but I assume I can mess with the string height and/or replace with a slightly higher gauge.

I got mine today. It plays well and sounds good. Love the 3 band active EQ. Only complaint is some slight fret sprout on a few frets. First time I've had it on a MIM anything. Could easily file.
