Well dang, I just bought the oscillating multi-tool in the $149 combo for $70-something after "hack" (ie. just return batteries). Looks like it's $69.14 now - so a great deal. Palm sander is $66.91 (hack) - tempting, damn you SlickDeals!

Have they fixed the on off switch on this?

I bought one a few years ago, used it twice and the switch won't turn on anymore. I haven't gotten around to having it fixed yet. But at the time a few reviews stated this was a pretty common issue.
I'd do some checking before I got it.

Are the blades on this proprietary? I had a Jobmax for years that used an allen wrench to compress in the blade, which took longer to switch out but it seemed to accept any cheap blade pattern from harbor frieght/ebay/amazon. This new one has the nice quick changing mechanism but none of my blades that fit the jobmax fit in this. Is there a cheap blade option or hack for this? If I have to buy ridgid brand blades, this deal turns to overpriced in a hurry.

The blades for this tool are pretty universal.

This seems to be a very good deal. I think this is the new model that is pretty universally praised with trigger rather than the old dial.

Great deal. Purchased. I ended up getting the older brushed version free from a mixup ridgid did. It worked great until the switch quit working. No lsa since I had no receipt. This looks to be a much better version.

This is the new tool with the variable speed paddle and it is a dramatic improvement over the one, like a night and day difference! I also have one of the old ones that I need to send it for repair. I wonder if there is any chance they would replace it with one of these? I really have no interest in it after using the new version.

I'd say yes there is a chance. I think they still make a brushed version so if they old one was brushed they'd probably send the cheaper version, but ya never know. When my old old old batteries went dead they did send a newer model of the same amp hour rating
