So this rings up $74.50 for the vibrator & $74.50 for the battery kit.
A good deal for both or either half if you want to hack the deal.

This is a great deal. This multi-tool is Ridgid's latest and is a huge improvement over the older model. I wish I got mine for this cheap.

Have the M12 Fuel, which is awesome, but this is a really sweet price! Wonder how it compares to Milwaukee Fuel M12/M18...?

Dang it. I got the old one but I got in the $300 8 tool deal. Win some/lose some I guess.

Also, other tool options available.

I'm interested in the 3inch cutoff tool but I heard the 3inch discs are non standard and pricey?

Just curious - how is the new one so much improved? I have the previous brushless model, and haven't had any issues so far.

Edit; looked it up: The new one has three fixed speeds, and a variable speed trigger. Whereas the old brushless model had a 36-speeds via a rotating wheel, and an on/off switch. I do occasionally bump the wheel and unintentionally change speeds on mine, so yes indeed, would likely prefer the newer design if I had both at hand.

I picked up the old version the other day in store for $79 with (1) 2Ah battery. I kind of wish I paid more attention when I bought it, becasue I used it to cut a 48"x72" chunk of drywall out and I bumped the speed wheel a few times, which drastically changed the speed. The new version having set speeds that cant be changed with just a slight bump would be convenient.

What do people use these for most of the time? I always thinking I "need" one, but then I realize I don't know what I'm going to use it for.

I've seen it used for removing caulk, which I do rarely. I cut drywall (infrequently) just fine with a hand saw.

Other things I think of using it for, like small cuts, I can probably do with my Dremel. So what am I missing?

It really matters about the type of blade you use it for. Like cutting through thick PVC pipes or that really short pipe for an valve removal (an extra half an inch can be had vs the hand tool)

I've been disappointed with the use cases I've worked with mine but I can say I bought some wheels off Amazon that fit just fine.

4.5" is the most common and readily available size.
3" are stocked at places like Home Depot (with slightly lower variety to choose from) at a similar price per disc to the 4.5".
While it's true that you would most likely get more grinding value out of a larger disc, unless you are using them professionally everyday it is not worth worrying about rather one should be thinking about the ideal size for your specific use cases.
It is always much cheaper to order these type of consumables in advance especially in bulk than to buy them from a consumer retailer.

hmm, I am interested in the Orbit Sander as my last one from HF just went bad. Does anyone have any input on the sander?

It's one of those use it rarely tools but you're glad to have when you do. I put in laminate floor and was able to cut under the door moulding so the flooring could fit under. I got I much more professional finish. Things like that.

There are also attachments that I don't yet have. Once my attachments collection expands I'm sure I'll use it more.

If I didn't get the Ridgid planer 2 weeks ago I get this new multitool. Maybe next month?

I was previously looking at the palm sander or random orbit. This sale and my 10% off coupon that expires today may make me pull the trigger.
