$5 Cheaper than the clearance price they have been.
V-series seems to be failing as Lowes & Ace have been dumping their inventory for months. I got a set before my local Lowes sold out at $34.99.

Like most V-Series tools this kit is a rebranded product another company owned by Stanley Blacker &Decker (FACOM of France)
Despite being made in Taiwan the quality is less than ideal.
They did as little chroming & machining as possible.
The inside is poorly painted and starts to come off with any use, will be hard to keep them from rusting.
The corners of the square drive are an unrounded sharp 90° & not chamfered at all which makes them more prone to breaking.
If they do fail you are likely going to be out of luck getting a warranty on a discontinued product.

While these would not be good everyday tools for a mechanic this is a compact well-cased kit & very handy to carry in a metric vehicle.
It really was $140 for years.

Which is why no one who buys cheap tools at Lowes bought it.

Look how much the FACOM branded set sells for:

No way this is $139 retail. Who is Lowe's trying to fool?

Idk, but lifetime no questions asked and good build Craftsman…no bad or low reviews in sight
I did a review of the V-series XL ratchet wrenches on the craftsman website, they wouldn't allow my review & said it violated the policies. Wasn't anything that would violate any policy other than it wasn't a positive review (because of the lack of a 15mm). Unfortunately it shows how manipulated reviews seem are by Craftsman.
If you need that little set it might be ok in a vehicle but I go for a full set of tools for my car carry tools. Don't forget GM made the Cadillac & a Geo Metro, so don't assume there are quality similarities….

Grabbed x1. This is a good price. Ratchet alone retails for $20 without any of the extras. Plus got free shipping on it.

Worried about some dust getting on a ratchet and socket set? If you're worried about things getting dirty, then these definitely aren't for you.

For working on your modern car, metric. For practically everything else, SAE.

You ok? I just went to my local Sears yesterday…
your "local' sears is pretty much everyone's "local" sears. there are 6 stores left. they are all on the coasts. there might still be 1 left in texas, but it should be closing this year if it's still there.

I paid a few dollars more, but I have been using fairly heavy for at least 6 months. Initially a tad stiff to get ratchet and a sayb10mm socket.disconnected, but at this point worn in. Don't do stupid shit( for example a 120 tooth 3/8 ratchet with a cheater ). For what it is amd this price point and the case itself with the extension used as a handle- this is perfectly good set for ones that not willing to pay snapon price tag.

No, they are "Detection Wells" for inventory and management. You know, you need to do inventory on all 18 pieces without the need to open the case because that would waste too much time.

This set will become a collectors item due to being a special edition by Facom and the unique case design. At least it will definitely hold its value. One thing I wish they did is to make the ratchet serviceable by adding a c-clip. For this price, I will get another set as a backup.

I hope they will lower the 1/4 sets to $20. currently it's $30. Still a little too high for what you get. But these v-series sets do have very well made and finished sockets and the case design is a classic.
I bought five metric sets today. I will hold on to them and hope they appreciate like Lego sets!

That isn't worth $139... Maybe $30 but limited sizes... Who puts these packages together? Garbage
