I have both the Fossil and Citizen models. My Citizen is the older version that doesn't have the O2 sensor. Annoyingly it also uses a different charger. Personality I really like these watches. I like that they don't look like a big screen on my wrist. I like that the battery life is the better part of a month (I'm guessing I get 3 weeks) vs a day or a few days. The functionality is limited vs an apple watch but I think it's worth it for not having to charge daily and having an always on screen. Still, if you want an apple watch type functionality, this isn't it.
One warning, like many smart watches these are large. They are both thick and with the SS bracelet on the heavy side.
anyone who want a hybrid watch has got some sort of smart watch instead.
years ago i would spend a thousand dollar on a citizen for multi information display, but i end up with garmins epix and never looked back.

Did some online research. Not a bad watch but it's a few years old and is not touch screen so there are limits on functions. That said, battery life is great (up to two weeks) and for $100 it might fill the bill of many.
I used a hybrid smart watch for years, and it had a replaceable battery that lasted 6 months. I'm good with that. But not to have to recharge, and then after a few years it's obsolete or can't get a replacement battery.
I'm getting a bit tired of all these devices we buy with batteries that don't last and then just go in the landfill.
I'll get another Eco-Drive Citizen though, my current watch is on it's 15th year.
After trying many smart watches and fitness trackers, I've spent the past 2 years with a Withings Scanwatch. I'm a big fan of the hybrid approach--I want something with a long battery life, fitness tracking, basic notifications, and that looks good. This is tempting.
Interesting. I like the idea of this. Mostly just use my smart watch for fitness tracking and the actual watch. Notifications are cool and mine has a cellular plan, but I have most notifications turned off and I can't really use the phone part because it eats the battery quick, even with half the things turned off, the dumb thing doesn't even last a day on a charge. Much prefer the look of a real watch. This might work well for me!
4.5 out of 5 stars because it does what I want it to do very well. I have been wearing this watch for two months and have only charged it twice. The software is very limited to the point that it is barely a smartwatch. But I only wanted a smartwatch for phone call and text notifications. I recommend watching some YouTube videos so you know you getting.
wearing watch is for fashion now. not for telling the time. who doesnt have or know the time nowaday at any giving time.
I personally don't know the time (nor can remember the date half the time) without referencing some external device. I also don't tether my phone to my hip at every moment nor feel like pulling it out of my pocket when I just need to glance at the time. Watches certainly do serve a purpose and not everyone is so worried about fashion...especially when your watch is frequently covered by sleeves

anyway. any reduced battery life/functions on the 42mm? i need a small watch for small wrist
"Need" for "fashion" use? LOL....why even charge the battery if it is just for appearances?

To those who say get a smart watch instead: I can't accept the idea of charging a watch daily. A watch's battery is supposed to last years if not a lifetime.
I like the two I have. If I lost both I would buy again. It's a great watch for someone who would like a traditional looking watch but also wants fitness tracking and things like text message notifications (and limited ability to read them) and a the watch to vibrate when your phone is ringing. I like that because I keep my phone on silent ring most of the time. I don't always notice when it rings in my pocket. My biggest issues with the watch is I'm not really a big watch person and this is on the large size for my taste. It's also heavy if you get the full SS case+bracelet version. My Fossil version has the rubber strap and isn't that heavy.
How is the app? I currently have a Garmin, which I expect will need to be replaced in the next year or so, and am balking at the price tag. If this has reasonable fitness tracking features, I may be in for one.
They have one version of these watches with touch screen $150.
The rich screen model is different. It's more like a Samsung/Apple watch with a full color screen that is either producing light or is off/very hard to see.

Citizen, like fossil is getting out of the smartwatch game. Do not expect updates to this. May not be an issue but definitely something to keep in mind in the long run
