Does "Excellent" mean just opened? I worry a demo tv that has been on every day for the past year could be "excellent" only because they kept the box and there are no scratches.

I believe they'll tell you if it's a demo unit. Same thing happened to an open box laptop I bought . Was specifically told in the description it was a demo unit that's why the battery went but still works when plugged in.

OLED is better for dark rooms. MiniLED is better for brighter rooms like family rooms.

Does anyone have experience with credit cards offering extended warranty on open-box items from Best Buy?

I don't know if it helps but I bought a demo tv from best buy like 7 years ago and it was one of the best purchases on a tv I have made. Since they are just on and not turned on and off repeatedly through the day. I think they get less stress than normal use. That is of course if it's a demo tv.

Obviously a single instance of a good tv isn't going to give much data but it is some data. I would try it again for getting a 3500$ tv for 1000$ though. Just another data point for consideration.
