I agree with your take but how much does a Happy Meal actually cost McD's? It's 3 days in one tiny dot of the world of McDonald's. They'll survive.

EDIT: FWIW "Greater SoCal area" does not include San Diego as the deal is not in my app.

I suppose if my house had burned down I would eat at McDonald's. Otherwise I prefer to eat something that tastes better than it's cardboard box.

Meh, let them look. I always get the kids meal from Culvers. Same exact burger as a normal cheese burger but no upcharge for milk (since I don't drink soda anymore) and you get a free ice cream, all for $1 less than a Deluxe basket.


As for this offer, it seems intended to help the people suffering from the effects of the fire. I'm fine with it not being available elsewhere...we shouldn't feel entitled to a freebie. And this is likely either owner/operators working together or the insanely wealthy overall corporation providing the tiny cost offset as a credit.

Kraft Mac and cheese is a flavor explosion compared to most of the burgers currently on the McDonald's menu. A week ago I tried the mcrib (haven't had it in a couple decades) and I couldn't believe how bland it was. I could taste the bun, the pickles, and ... that was about it.
