You can save even more money by buying plain cane sugar. Other than the price and color, nutritionally, they're practically the same.

There's actually better prices if you didn't get this tub of sugar. If coconut sugar is what you're after try this https://www.amazon.com/BetterBody-Foods-Gluten-Free-Glycemic-Substitute/dp/B0CB9DC8KP?crid=3P7FANSL1... [amazon.com]

or this https://www.amazon.com/Madhava-Organic-Coconut-Sugar-Pound/dp/B00BBDJJL6?crid=3P7FANSL17OYF&dib=eyJ2... [amazon.com]

Both are cheaper than the original deal if you max S&S.

Per Perplexity, which does pretty good research, and provides references, science and anecdotal experience say they are not practically the same for diabetics:

Benefits of Coconut Sugar
1. Lower Glycemic Index (GI):
Coconut sugar has a glycemic index ranging from 35 to 40, which is significantly lower than that of regular table sugar (GI of 60-65). This means it may cause a slower and more gradual increase in blood sugar levels, making it potentially less harmful for diabetics.
2. Nutritional Content:
Unlike refined sugars, coconut sugar retains some nutrients found in the sap of the coconut palm, including minerals like iron, zinc, calcium, and potassium. While these amounts are relatively small, they can contribute to overall nutritional intake.
3. Inulin Fiber:
Coconut sugar contains inulin, a type of prebiotic fiber that can help slow glucose absorption in the body. This fiber may aid in regulating blood sugar levels and improving gut health.
5. Reduced Insulin Requirement:
Some individuals with diabetes have reported needing less insulin when consuming coconut sugar compared to regular sugar, although individual responses may vary.
