Same price everywhere if you don't want to use Amazon.

All the 400mm Nikons are on sale, 400mm f/4.5 is $2800, 100-400 is $2300. The 600 PF is $1000 off at $3800, wish I could afford that.

I'd pay the extra for 5 year warranty vs 90 day assuming they still have the same warranty policies.

It's made in China so could be subject to tariffs when Trump takes office.

That shifts things a bit then, didn't realize they had dumped the free extra 4 years on new lenses.

The Nikkor 28-400mm is a stellar (daytime) lens. It's my go to for my kids lacrosse games. Focus is very fast and the reach is outstanding. It of course is a f4-8, so you need plenty of light.

This might not be an option for everyone, but I added all my camera gear to my home owners insurance, which covers loss, damage, and theft and it's only a couple bucks a month. I'd prefer a 5 year warranty to come with the lens, but this works for me.

Are z lens even worth it? They are so expensive. I just use the ftz adapter. Haven't had issues.

They're all pretty amazing, I get annoyed by adapters too easily and have pretty quickly switched to all native Z lenses.

I think the benefit of Z lenses is you can get lenses not available in F Mount. There's no equivalent to this lens in F mount, same with the 70-180 f/2.8, the 180-600, the 100-400 etc. I use the FTZ adapter for lenses like the 85 1.8 or 105 Macro rather than buy Z equivalents.
