I worked for UPS and these were the bane of my existance. Had to wheel one 500 ft uphill on a gravel driveway. One of those with stone that doesn't pack down cause they bought the wrong type of crushed stone. That was probably my worst delivery ever. And then i got up to the house, and there was one already there. Some other poor driver had to do the same thing.

the hood for these aren't to cover food ..they're for storage... restaurant grills aren't outdoors in the elements... did you really just try to make that comparison

any comparison to the one costco sells for $399? item # 1713585 . What does less BTUs matter? i know its about the heat, but will the 38,000 BTU still be a good product?
First let me say this was an excellent price for the basic model.

The newer Omnivore version griddle top encloses the sides more which holds in the heat better and is quite efficient to cook. Therefore it uses less fuel with the enclosed sides. It's also reinforces the perimeter to reduce warping. I have the older model but mine never warped. However warping occurs from thermal shock due to rapid temperature change.

Costco has the tray in the front and I believe an articulating attached hood so you're paying for those added features.

You could buy an older style griddle and then use wind guards around the sides and back. Or as some of us owners have done, buy SS bench scrapers/choppers from Dollar Tree and hung them around the griddle perimeter to block wind from coming underneath the griddle top. These also keep the side shelves cool, which can get very hot without blocking that intense heat.

These griddle get very hot. Most of my cooking is 3 burners only turned a quarter to half way and one burner off so I have a warmer area from radiant heat on my right side.

Confirmed Omnivore griddle on the box. Crazy fast shipping, ordered it yesterday and it was delivered today. The box is very heavy. The installation was simple, but the quality is bad. One of the screws and pre drilled holes don't fit. There is rust on the body of the grill box. Everything else is good, the griddle is really nice.

After looking at it closely this 1554AZ is an upgrade over the regular 1554. I assume AZ is the Amazon version. First, it has the omnivore griddle the regular 1554 doesn't have, the griddle has windguard at the bottom. The trays sit high flush with the grill box instead of lower, they're foldable, and has hangers for tools. There's a front lip from the box out in front. There's a paper towel holder.

It doesn't say anywhere on the website or the box, but it's 38000BTU.

Thanks for the follow up

Just curious, what are you gonna do about the screw/hole and the rust? DIY or reach out to cs?

I like the griddle, but I'm not a fan of Blackstone quality control after the two I got, this and the 22" adventure ready from Walmart. Misaligned components on both. As for this, the rust I'll see if I can sand it away, it's on the grill box so under the griddle, not in sight. The pre drilled hole I was able to get in using a longer screw of the same size I have in my toolbox, it's not pretty, but I'll forget about it after awhile.

Blackstone qc is way below the Weber and Camp Chef I have.

Assembled mine yesterday, quality of mine seems fine. It arrived Friday, though tracking said it wasn't coming until tuesday.
