Good deal I guess but the "new style" uses a plastic post to screw into the drain, I could easily see this snapping off and being a huge pain the ass to clear out the threads

I like that they even went so far as to make the plastic look brass, definitely not trying to fool anyone

Thank you for saving me from entering into this timeline and condemning myself to future nightmares on my hands and knees in a tub

I have a broken plastic post right now! I think I'll try and cut a notch into it so I can back it out with a flathead.

Hammer a screw driver into it then turn it out. Doesn't work all the time but when it does, it's awesome

Wow that's what my iPhone is made out of, too! China only makes plastic crap because Americans buy it.

I'm going to pass. I've been waiting on the 2026 model where they replace the plastic post with paper mache and increase the MRSP to $85. It will be 95% off, so I will be saving more money.

This also applies to American companies like Meon and Delta as they have tried and successfully (I don't like it) replaced many of their faucet components with plastics.
Just know when the first iPad came out, they said that if all parts and manufacturing were done here in the US, it would have cost consumers $10k to get one.

Imagine the price of a cotton shirt back in the 1800s

I'm sure no one was complaining about all the free labor back then either

It's a good price but I don't recommend it. I had to replace it several times because the plastic threaded shaft eventually yielded and the stopper ended up at an angle. The threaded part is cantilevered so any push or kick (like from a foot) on the top part will yield/break the thread. I bought mine at Home Depot for $12! FYI - Amazon has better prices when compared to many of the items from Home Depot.
