Been shaving my head daily for the last 20 years. Money saved on hair cut and shampoo goes into my retirement fund.

I actually saved a lot from going to the barber thanks to the pandemic. Learned to cut my own hair from watching videos.

My father cut my hair and 2 of my brothers for the last 30-40 years. He does a better and quicker job than all the barbers I've been to.

The amount of money saved is significant but also the time saved and convenient cutting hair from home. No need to drive, wait, tip, etc.

Now I'm cutting my two boys. I'm more well off compared to my parents and can easily afford my kids haircut, but I'd rather cut their hair at home without driving anywhere far. I can finish their hair by the time I drive to the barber and wait.

$20 to $30 for men's haircut is outrageous. Plus those fake lady hair dressers would expect you to give anywhere from $5 to $20 tip on top depending on how fake she behaves with you.

Big NO to that and i am so happy that COVID era made me learn on how to cut my own hair using clippers!

No more waiting in line, thats the bonus!

I've been cutting my hair with the same Oster brand clippers since 2002. 23 years later they are still cutting my hair and are in working condition. As long as you take care of Oster clippers, they'll take care of you.

This is a great deal and I'm about ready for another pair of Oster clippers as I can tell mine are on their last dozen or so haircuts before going kaput for good. (the power cord is shorting out and had to be bent & taped with electrical tape in order to power on). It's nice this deal comes with both the clippers and a nice trimmer set also.

Thank you OP for this deal and I hope these clippers last at least half as long as my previous pair of Oster clippers still going strong after 23 years of cutting my hair.

Paying someone for expensive haircuts and bragging about it is loser mentality. Your hair is going to grow back out in two weeks and you've wasted your money.

As for hair clippers once you go with wireless you'll never go back to wired.

The Professional series by Oster is from their premium line. I didn't see reviews on the Mag, but here are reviews for the Ace Mini

I have an Oster professional that I picked up during covid. My thoughts:

1. It takes a little practice but it's actually not that hard to cut your own hair with these. Especially if you want a tapered look. Shaping takes time at first but you get better with practice.

2. They are powerful and stay sharp, but they do get hot after extended use. Keep them oiled and take breaks.

3. I wish I had gone cordless. The wire is really annoying when working on yourself.

Is this good for cutting thick dog hair?
It would cut, but as someone who grooms my own 2 doodles I'd get something specific to dogs; my dog clippers are quieter and less scary to them, and I use one with a vacuum as well to make cleanup much easier.

The nice thing about quality clippers like Oster is that replacement parts are available. You could replace the cord for a few bucks and be good another 20 years.

OK thanks, I have a golden doodle that has what I would call sheep's hair. I do need something more heftier than what I already have.
