Is this $500 better vs 83B4 ?what 83C4 has that 83B4 doesn't? except a bit more nits ?The processor in both is the same.tnx
1. Processor
83C4: Equipped with a more advanced α9 Gen 6 AI Processor for superior image processing, upscaling, and AI-based enhancements.
83B4: Features the α7 Gen 5 AI Processor, which is capable but slightly less advanced than the α9.
2. Brightness
83C4: Generally offers better peak brightness, making it more suitable for brighter rooms and enhancing HDR performance.
83B4: Slightly lower peak brightness, which might not handle bright room conditions as well as the C4.
3. HDR Performance
83C4: Better HDR tone mapping and support for Dolby Vision IQ with Precision Detail.
83B4: Supports Dolby Vision, but without advanced features like Precision Detail.
4. Gaming Features
83C4: Enhanced gaming features such as NVIDIA G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) with a smoother gaming experience due to lower input lag and faster refresh rates.
83B4: Supports VRR and gaming modes but lacks some of the fine-tuned enhancements of the C4.
5. Audio Performance
83C4: Better audio processing with AI Sound Pro, including improved upmixing to virtual 9.1.2 channels.
83B4: Decent sound performance but limited to virtual 5.1.2 channels.
6. Build Quality and Design
83C4: Slimmer and more premium design, often with a better stand or wall-mount compatibility.
83B4: Still sleek, but the build may not feel as high-end as the C4.
7. WebOS Features
83C4: Comes with the latest version of WebOS, offering a more refined interface and additional smart features.
83B4: Might have an older version of WebOS with fewer updates.
I really appreciate your reply with those details. As I want o understand real differences to make educated selection.
However, I have different facts for 83B4, pls. see for the pictures.
The 83B4 states for α9 Gen 7 AI Processor, exact the same as in the 83C4, based on what's on the box and LG web site[lg.com]
Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen7 provides smooth, crisp picture and sound with AI Picture Pro and AI Super Upscaling
Enjoy movie magic from home with Dolby Vision™, Dolby Atmos®³ & FILMMAKER MODE™
Packed with gaming features like NVIDIA G-Sync and 120Hz refresh rate
So far I found 1 key difference 83C4 has over 83B4 - Brightness Booster technology magnifies each individual pixel for luminous quality that shines with every detail
I translate this as 83C4 has more nits and better for day light room, when extra brightness is needed.
If you have access to 83C4, would you share WebOS version and extra features? please.
I don't argue that B4 is on par with C4, but want to know where C4 is better and does it justify extra $500 costs for me subjectively?
Personally I don't need TV sound, I have 7.1 receiver with speakers. I would buy TV without speakers , but I can't, all comes with some speakers.
thanks again for your help

RTings says the c4 brightness is measurably less than Samsung and Sony equivalents for brightly lit rooms. I'm in the market and that's making me hesitant to pull the trigger.

Very little of this comparison is correct. 83" B4 and C4 have the same processor, as the LG website shows. The C4 has greater peak brightness, which is the only difference in the big table of specs that LG identifies.
The 83" processor is the same. The difference is C4 has brightness booster that makes highlight brighter, and B4 does not. C4 screen coating is glossy, making the contrast looks deeper and handles reflection better while B4 has an almost matte screen. The rest of the features are the same. I hate matte screen on TV but I understand it is my personal preference. If you like matte screen, B4 is a better value.

The 83 b4 actually shares the same Processors as the c4 😉 the only difference is the b4 can't do super bright mode.
