I would not buy this (or just at least be aware of what you're buying). Its griddle has type of ceramic non-stick coating as opposed to the carbon steel griddles used by the standard Blackstones. It also goes up to a max temperature of 500 F (I couldn't find this information on any product pages, this is according to a reddit post).

Definitely be aware of these differences. The e series does have a nonstick surface and has lower heat output. It can be used indoors tho, and comes with a hard cover to help retain heat.

The propane version appears to be the standard rolled steel top.

Thanks for the heads up. I was close to getting this. I have been trying to get rid of my propane stuff. I replaced my grill and pizza oven lately with electric versions and want a griddle. I keep hoping for a deal on a decent electric one before it gets warm. Are there any decent electric ones?

If you're okay with non-stick cookware, this may very well be a decent one. But all the electric ones I've seen use a non-stick griddle, and if's non-stick then the temperature will likely be capped at 500F or lower. For me, both of those things are dealbreakers.

As far as griddles go, I would just get a cast iron or carbon steel griddle and use it on the stove top.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I already have a propane griddle, so I might just stick with it.

If you're looking for electric griddles that get hot and have a carbon steel surface, look up Vevor (or other associated brands that are rebadges of the same item). They have their own website but they also sell on Amazon and Home Depot.

They're crude and heavy, but they work pretty damn well and they're CHEAP. They also come in various sizes. I got the 17" and it absolutely does amazing on pancakes and smashed burgers.

I'm really surprised Blackstone inserted a ceramic non-stick instead of doing what Vevor did.

if you just use silcone utensils to not scratch the non-stick surface, it's still a great deal and the main point is that it's ideal for indoor cooking since it does not get as hot.
