The $850 Victus with 4070 was a better deal.
The $850 Victus with 4070 was a better deal.
Why do you feel the Victus was the better deal?
Im considering this over the victus because the intel cpu has a higher thread and core count and also works with thunderbolt 4. But I have read this laptop gets hot with that cpu. Also has 2 ssd slots and 100% accurate rgb screen and rgv keyboard.
Reasons why im considering returning the victus is lack of 2nd ssd and smaller 512gb ssd less color accuracy screen.
Pros I have found on Victus was the price and less reviews stating over heating 5600mhz ram vs 4800mhz on this tuf. Not sure if thats a huge difference being both ddr5
Cons limit to external displays and poor included display and low ssd memory.
I would like to hearing your thought process because this asus tuf almost seems to be the better deal with a bigger ssd and better screen although small screen and rgb 2 ssd sllots and thunderbolt 4
I also seen some specs say this asus tuf has 2 thunderbolt ports but also read other places its only 1. Trying to figure out which is true still.

Yeah the TUF has the Victus beat with 512GB SSD vs 1TB. Completely dumb to have a single slot and sell it with only 512GB but that's probably part of why it was $100 cheaper than this I guess.
No thunderbolt sucks but realistically I'm never going to need it. USB C is fine for me.
The screen is maybe better on the TUF? I'm not sure. Somewhere said 250 nits but that sounds crazy low so I don't know that that's accurate. If it's the same 300 nits as the Victus then yeah this would be the better screen.
If you buy open box it's a pretty good deal no doubt but paying a grand for this is not very slick imo.
If you're using the Victus right now right click desktop > display > color profile and turn on automatically manage color for apps. You might like the look of it better.
The 4090 has twice the performance of a 4070. This is simple not going to happen with 4070->5070. Expect something more like 20-30% boost
Also I'd step up to the 5070 TI for that 16GB vram. 16 is the new 12.
