Do not EVER use the hardwire cutters on these unless they're the replaceable models like on the Surge or Wave+. If you clamp down too hard, it'll deform the metal and render the pliers very difficult to operate if not worthless altogether.

This is a great tool, but be realistic and use the "right" tool whenever possible.

I agree, but just as an FYI from someone who has done that a bunch, you can file a warranty claim and send it in for repair (~$10 for your shipping in) or if you would prefer to fix it yourself a quick brush of the cutter section with a Dremel followed by a drop of wd40 should get things back into shape.

just bought this for $40 and like it. However, my new favorite multitool is the Harbor Freight Gordon. Hard to find due to popularity. But a great tool for $40. And i would rank it above this Leatherman Rev.

Leatherman's lowest quality MT. But TBH the packing tape doesn't care what kind of knife you use.

I love me some Leatherman, but just about every tool on this model is a compromise. Your $30 is better spent elsewhere.

You nailed it. That HF Gordon is a best buy for the price point, especially if you can snag it with a 20% coupon which brings it inline with this "deal". It's basically the perfect high quality Wave copy with some clever improvements and a decent sheath included.

I collect and have several Letterman's, but a Victorinox Spirit bought many years ago is by far my best multi-tool. The main reason I bought it was that it had a must-have, slightly hooked, serrated blade that could cut a car seat belt when you were in an accident that left your car upside down. Unfortunately -- or fortunately -- I never got to use it for that over the years. That blade doesn't look to be on the current model.

Is the Gordon too large to fit in a jeans pocket? I like smaller multitools I can clip onto my front pocket.

Was it the ozark trail multi force the one that's $50 cause that ones solid.

The Wingman and Sidekick regularly went on sale for $25 just before the pandemic.I picked up 4 of them (1 to use, 3 spares), figuring it was safer than one Wave since I didn't need most of the fancy tools.. I still have two of them. (Lost the other two. The weak point turned out to be the clip, which broke on 3 of them. The one tool I noticed fall, I sent in to Leatherman and they replaced the clip. Dunno if they redesigned the clip, but the replacement has held.)

All the Leatherman deals since then have sucked. I haven't seen either the Wingman or Sidekick below $50 since then, even though adjusting the $25 for inflation gives $32.

Went with the Harbor Freight one, thanks. For the price is pretty good. There is a $10 off for $50 or more right now, basically can get some extra things for free.

Will get the Leatherman too and compare.If I don't like the Costco one I can just return it or give it out as a gift.

Victorinox has the best scissors of any tool bar none.
