This is the lowest price I've seen this year (Adorama sold them for a brief moment in 2023 for $1299), and even the refurb units are selling for $1600-$1700, so $1499 for a brand new unit seems to be a pretty good deal.

If you're gonna rely on the internal amps this is a good way to go.
If you're gonna use any external amps might be worth the wait to see if they bring back the $1k sale for the 3800.
There isn't much difference other than power in my experience.

UI is a little clunky, doesn't have the latest updates or HDMI 2.1 but it works well for my 11.4.2 setup

I would highly recommend getting the $20 Audyssey MultiEQ Editor app and use that to run the calibration process(ideally on a pad/tablet).
There is a new script called A1EVO that is quickly becoming a game changer for Audyssey.
People are finding out that it gives you pretty much Dirac RC results for the cost of the $20 Editor App!
I would highly suggest looking into that also.

I'm not following it completely but know it's evolving quickly.
I used it 3 different times & used/own full suite of Dirac and it's a game changer imo.
Dirac gets the slight edge mainly because of DLBC BUT for the extra cost not really worth it for most people imo.
I would add this applies for Marantz owners also.
On a related tangent, I wish A1EVO were available for the Arcams...though Ive been happy with DIRAC, there are MANY issues between ARCAM & DIRAC (each points fingers at eachother), especially with DLBC. Would be nice to have an alternate option other than DIRAC/DLBC

To get the same functionality out of Dirac you need to purchase the full bandwidth and bass control package from Dirac that is currently $599. I'm glad we have the option but it's big price, when other much cheaper AVR's have it built-in.
My .02 is that XT32 does a good job, handles sub tuning really well, and has the dynamic volume / dynamic eq features that I've grown to love for lower volume everyday use. The $20 app allows you to make curve adjustments if you want to tailor in a little tweaks after it does its work. So, I would definitely try out everything with XT32 before spending on Dirac. You might be happy with it. I've been on the fence about this in the past, but just recently realized using Dirac would also cost me the dynamic volume / dynamic eq features. I can't give those up.
If you really want to try out Dirac then there are Pioneer / Onkyo AVR's that have Dirac live full bandwidth built-in, requiring the $300 bass control package to be fully kitted out, so ending up around $1,000 all-in for a completely separate AVR. I think that's a much better path to take if you want Dirac.
