A 5-gallon bucket full of water (or a few of them, depending on weather situation) with a rope tied from the handle to supports has worked well for me in the past.

I've been curious on these canopies, how do you tie it down on asphalt? This would be useful when I wash/detail my cars outside during the summer days.

Nice. I've broken a couple of these after they have gotten blown over by the wind. definitely getting some bag weights for it this time. And if it does blow over, make sure you push all the legs in and collapse it before trying to put it right side up again.

They sell sand bags you can refill that strap to the legs to keep it anchored

Not a huge discount but $5 is $5.

Get a 12x12, or better yet, 13x13. Unless the sun is EXACTLY right over the car, you need a slightly larger area. Plus the legs on a 10x10 are going to be unconformably close to the paint

I'd spend the money to get a better built canopy, this one lasted two uses and it went to the trash.

Most of those are just 10x10 frames with arms at the top that extend the canopy, legs are typically in the same position. But I agree in principle, bigger canopy is better.

Could you put this overtop a generator in the rain?

Bought at the full price last year. One of the plastic upper corner bracket was snapped off making it unusable. Was easy enough to rebox and get a replacement but still a bit of an inconvenience.

But that I think is the main issue you'll deal with, the frame is metal however the corner brackets are fairly thin plastic pieces holding everything together. Got to be careful assembling and disassembling because if one of those pieces snaps the canopy is as good as trashed. Also I doubt it'll hold up to any kind of wind but its not advertised to be used in bad weather.

On the plus side it is super easy to put up, as far as these kinda canopies go. The one time I've used it in light rain it worked out great.

There are canopy weights you can buy. Here's what Walmart offers [walmart.com]

It's showing $63.20 for me. I wonder if it's a targeted Walmart member?
