Is this processor/igpu better than the eBay lunar lake core ultra 5 226v deal? in terms of processor, igpu, and battery life?

On this model CPU is considerably faster, power consumption is a little better, and the iGPU trades blows with the Intel model being on average a couple percent faster. However, this one has a higher resolution screen with a higher refresh rate, 50% more RAM, and double the SSD. So you have to ask yourself if those things are worth $300 more.

If you plan on doing any amount of gaming (and this is not a gaming laptop) then I'd also take into account that AMD has better drivers and the FSR support is generally far more widely supported than Intel's XeSS.

When you say power consumption is a little better, do you mean battery life is better, or that AMD consumes more power and therefore, performs better?

I have this with 32 GB of ram and I'm about to return it, because it's so flimsy that I can't use it just sitting on my couch. If I put my hands on the palm rests to type, it flexes the body so much that it clicks both mouse buttons. It's otherwise great and if you are only using it on a table then it's fine, but it's really poorly constructed. The pendulum of "thin & light" has swung too far into structural weakness.

That is strange.
I have had this same notebook but just with a 512gb for about 6 weeks. I'm typing on it right now. It seems very well-built to me. The keyboard is fine (good for a laptop, but it is still a laptop). The trackpad is ok, though maybe a bit too large. My palms do extend into the trackpad a bit when typing, but I haven't had any false clicks from that. I have inadvertently adjusted volume and brightness with my palms a couple of times due to the trackpad edge gestures. Those can be turned off, of course, but I find them more useful than annoying. If I actively try to flex the frame then I can a bit but not much without applying excessive force.
I haven't gamed on it at all as I game on my desktop or handheld, but it has been pretty great otherwise.
My only "problem" is that I got the black one and it is a bit of a fingerprint/oil magnet - especially the trackpad; it always looks gross.

How's the battery life on this one? I saw that the Intel 226v's battery life was better, but I couldn't find anyone else saying the same.

With general usage (browsing, watching videos, office apps, etc) I get about 7ish hours from a starting point of 80%. I vary my screen brightness a good bit depending on what I am doing.

Obviously more intensive things cut down on that quite a bit.

The AMD CPU is significantly better than lunar lake especially in multithreaded applications.

As for the GPU, the 880M found in the 365 should be on average 10-15% faster before implementing FSR (currently superior to XeSS) but of course, it varies by game.
