I have this speaker and it sounds great IF you install an EQ app on your device. I have the speaker here at work and have had several compliments on how well it sounds.

Just read plenty of reviews that report disappointing sound even after using the EQ app.

SRS line is terrible. Boomy and excessive bass. Music does not sound the same. Reminds of the CARS that pump too much boom except you are home and everyone is confused when you start playing the music.

The App is just as terrible as all other apps like this. Very slow, forgets devices, and updates break it.

To top it, there is very little you can customize on the device itself and you need to go to the app, for most functionality which is a nightmare. Buy at your own risk.

great at this price. weak for original and even on sale at 50%. All reviews show its boomy and muddy, but for $50 looks like a good deal

YES! People giving it bad reviews are of its initial sound out of the box. I just read more reviews.

you HAVE to install the App to adjust the EQ then it really is great.

So yea now this is a great deal

Thanks to sony for making it flat boomy out of the box and the many people who gave it bad reviews because they didnt bother to install the app. Didnt sell well and now offerd at a great price

Just did a quick check on Best Buy--still $200.

Maybe they'll catch up, but I can't be bothered to walk into a store and bug CS to match, so in for 1 with Walmart.
