I got in on a similar deal a couple of years ago. I didn't really think I'd have much use for it but it's actually been really nice to have a full searchable text of LOTR on my phone. A name or place that's vaguely familiar sounding appears in Rings of Power, I can search for that word and see what Tolkien wrote about it. I come across a random online discussion of some part of LOTR, I can jump straight to it and have all the context.

The illustrated version is also $1.99, seems to have a few more illustrations than just the map judging by the samples.

Illustrated complete set is also this price on the play store, I picked it up yesterday. Not sure which is the best one but you do get time to return it if you aren't happy: https://play.google.com/store/boo...RIEAAAQBAJ

I bought the version in your link. It's nice with the maps and illustration. I cannot believe the difference in the pages though it's over 600 pages.

If you like Bored of the Rings then find a copy and read The Last Ringbearer, the LOTR from an orc's viewpoint. History is written by the victors.

Several sales on these lately, is the copywrite expiring in a few years?
