Exactly! Material doesn't always translate into quality. I have had 100% cotton socks that have torn up in a few washes.
Its ok though. More for me! These are just what I am looking for.

can people stop posting polyester crap? you can easily find poly crap socks at the dollar store.
cotton socks are also very common 75% cotton

we need to find 100% cotton socks on sale which is very rare
