My taxes have only recently gotten complicated enough for a program like TurboTax to be useful, so I'm not as familiar with what is and isn't a good deal. Could someone explain why this post is receiving thumbs downs and what a good price would be? I live in a state that doesn't have state income tax, so I only need federal. (Will be using the Premier version.)

This is the popular deal from last year: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/905857

We haven't seen the same discounts yet.

Also, the poster is newish so might not know this, but "$ off" or "% off" posts aren't done here because they're not useful. It doesn't mean anything, and those offers are often deceptive.

At least one of the prices should be in the title and in the post. So it may be how the post was done, and the fact that it wasted a lot of peoples time, as much as this specific deal

This Costco offer for TurboTax Deluxe + State at $45 ($56-$11) is essentially the same as the Amazon offer in the link from last year but includes a $10 TurboTax credit (e.g. to e-file state taxes) instead of a $10 gift card.

How much you want to bet that Amazon posts its sale the day Costco's offer goes live.

I been using TaxFreeUSA. You can find other free filing service https://www.irs.gov/file-your-taxes-for-free

If you live in a state with no income tax, then TaxFreeUSA is free.

I don't know why people are TD'ing this. For example, Home & Business goes down to $75 (after $20 off) with $10 in-program credit - this would be the best deal for this version so far.

And there are only 9 states with no income tax in confederation, out of 50 which is less than 20%. So it's like a highly YMMV deal here.

What I meant is TaxFreeUSA is completely free with for Federal efiling, regardless of income. The state efiling would cost money if you pass certain threshold.

Just wanted to let you know that in the desktop version, you won't need to purchase Premier. Deluxe handles all the complex things I have in my taxes.

If you have a combination of tull-time job and part-time business, you would still need H&B version, right?

Price is higher than previous years. One $10 Credit Towards In-Product Add-Ons used to be a $10 Amazon GC in the past. So $48 is not a good deal.
