Also, the poster is newish so might not know this, but "$ off" or "% off" posts aren't done here because they're not useful. It doesn't mean anything, and those offers are often deceptive.

At least one of the prices should be in the title and in the post. So it may be how the post was done, and the fact that it wasted a lot of peoples time, as much as this specific deal

I used deluxe with a home based business and also buying & selling stock.
TT Deluxe may tell you while entering info you should upgrade to Premier. Just ignore and proceed with Deluxe

This Costco offer for TurboTax Deluxe + State at $45 ($56-$11) is essentially the same as the Amazon offer in the link from last year but includes a $10 TurboTax credit (e.g. to e-file state taxes) instead of a $10 gift card.

How much you want to bet that Amazon posts its sale the day Costco's offer goes live.

Incorrect. Costco version always came with $10 in-program credit while Amazon version always came with $10 Amazon gift card. Amz GC worth more, no doubt, but there were no comparable deals on neither platform. So the upcoming Costco deal seems the best so far (that includes a combination of Fidelity 25% off and $20 off with some Chase CC). Amzn has not advertised any sales for the TT yet, so if they will counter Costco offer with their $10 GC - that would likely be the best offer. But at the moment, only Costco deal is known.

Depends. For me, Costco is better because I always e-file and the $10 credit can be used towards state e-filing fees, which I would have to pay for completely with the Amazon version.

Thanks for posting this. I already knew this, but Intuit's misleading marketing practices make it sound like you need Premier for downloading stock transactions from brokerages. The wording they use now (I think) is "extra help with..." Few people generally need that "extra help" and almost any support you'll get for this product is from users supporting each other on their forums.

Thank you. That's very helpful. I'll be downgrading to Deluxe next year and preparing to wean myself off TT. Just waiting for those free-filing options to mature another year.

I didn't think anything below Home & Business could handle and business income/expenses, and home office deductions.

Yes. So if Amazon price matches, which it usually does, Amazon will give you a $10 Amazon gift card whereas Costco has the in-program credit. So you'll be spending the same amount and still getting a $10 credit of sorts either way. Since I'm already going to pay for the e-file fee, I prefer the Costco option. Whereas you have to buy something else from Amazon in order to use that. Not a big deal since people buy everything on Amazon anyway. I guess it's more of an instant use for me. Plus I have an Amazon credit card and get points back that way.
