Also, the poster is newish so might not know this, but "$ off" or "% off" posts aren't done here because they're not useful. It doesn't mean anything, and those offers are often deceptive.

At least one of the prices should be in the title and in the post. So it may be how the post was done, and the fact that it wasted a lot of peoples time, as much as this specific deal

I used deluxe with a home based business and also buying & selling stock.
TT Deluxe may tell you while entering info you should upgrade to Premier. Just ignore and proceed with Deluxe

This Costco offer for TurboTax Deluxe + State at $45 ($56-$11) is essentially the same as the Amazon offer in the link from last year but includes a $10 TurboTax credit (e.g. to e-file state taxes) instead of a $10 gift card.

How much you want to bet that Amazon posts its sale the day Costco's offer goes live.

No idea what you are trying to say. There is functionally zero difference between the costco versions and what is sold by everyone else, including turbotax directly. All you do with desktop versions (any and all) is import last year's turbotax return. I have done this for the last 20 years.

You need proof of mailing, which is slightly cheaper than certified mail. Receipt is insufficient. One year, I received a letter from IRS stating that my return was sent late and therefore penalties were due. I sent them proof of the date AND the address of the IRS return mailing, (which a plain receipt does not provide). I also included proof that they cashed the check included before the return due date. They replied saying that as a one time courtesy, they would waive the penalty. They never admitted they made a mistake.

Can someone tell me which deal is best, this one or Fidelity 25% off + Chase $20 off (or possibly Amazon)? I will be using Premiere (sold a house and have rental properties/crypto) and e-filing in MA. TIA.

I think Sam's has the CD version that always syncs in my experience. I know there are cheaper ways, but if you're sitting on 10 years of TurboTax data and programs in your PC, it's painful to switch.

You do you but the last time I tried to import prior year return using desktop version not only did it fail repeatedly but also failed to upload that years' return. I have used TurboTax for the last 10 years and there is one year mssing on the record when I used the desktop version.

Not true. For simple returns, they are comparable. For complex ones, TT still (marginally) has more support for forms than HRB.
