Also, the poster is newish so might not know this, but "$ off" or "% off" posts aren't done here because they're not useful. It doesn't mean anything, and those offers are often deceptive.

At least one of the prices should be in the title and in the post. So it may be how the post was done, and the fact that it wasted a lot of peoples time, as much as this specific deal

I used deluxe with a home based business and also buying & selling stock.
TT Deluxe may tell you while entering info you should upgrade to Premier. Just ignore and proceed with Deluxe

This Costco offer for TurboTax Deluxe + State at $45 ($56-$11) is essentially the same as the Amazon offer in the link from last year but includes a $10 TurboTax credit (e.g. to e-file state taxes) instead of a $10 gift card.

How much you want to bet that Amazon posts its sale the day Costco's offer goes live.

Because one is entrusting all of your sensitive data to a no-name company that can get hacked and information stolen, and the other is doing your taxes locally on your PC and uploading directly to the IRS. Pretty clear which option offers better security.

May want to do some research. Intuit (turbotax) has been caught, and sued, several times over "leaks".

Never heard of any from taxfreeusa or other free/low cost ones.

Let me know when the home and business version is $65 again

Okay, you all! It is official, Amazon has Turbotax Home and Business for $65.99. You pay $75.99, but you get a $10 amazon gift card.

Clearly you do not understand what is being discussed. Do you understand that turbotax comes in two form: desktop and online? The one here is desktop. All that I said was that the desktop version stays local on your machine and you send the data directly to the IRS, thus is inherently far more secure than online versions from name-brand and non-name brand tax prep companies.

Cause that's what Intuit charges and people pay it
If you have used both, you will understand. In an effort to save a few $$, I tried H&RB for two years...after using TT for the previous 13 years. My returns are somewhat complicated, but not as bad as many.

I could not return to TT fast enough. While H&RB was functional, it was laborious at best. The small cost difference between TT and H&RB is easily justified IF your returns are more than simple returns...ie, no rentals, capital gains, losses, business or farm expense, etc.

Does Delux let you capture and maintain the various depreciation schedules of improvements made over time?

We get it, you are a shill for freetaxusa and you spam this crap on every page. Isn't there a sandbox you can go play in and leave adults alone?
Uh what? This is my first ever post bringing up this question...or even discussing tax software. And I was genuinely interested in finding out why paid option compared to quality existing free option(s).

Ive used both over the years and have had an easier time with FreeTaxUSA historically... And thars even including business filings with K1s etc in addition to my W2 job.

Stop assuming things.

Maybe you are a shill for TurboTax??

Hi,

How is TaxFreeUSA if you have stocks, and ESPP? That's my main reason for needing TT. Especially for the ESPP portion
Other SDer also replied, but I want to added that TaxFreeUSA, IMHO, is a lot easier when compare to TT. TT's answer to many question is very confusion at best. TaxFreeUSA answer if you have a question is very easy to understand.
