Just a heads up: they are really bad about WideVine not working. Fandango and Netflix may not stream in HD
wouldn't trust them. multiple models suffer from a random screen freezing problem.

I got the iplay60 mini turbo... next level CPU but it is 8.4" for $130ish.
As someone who hates large tablets I got one of those and I love it. Bums me out the only other options in that size are the Y700 ($300) or the iPad Mini ($400)

Resolution looks a bit meh but can't really tell how much it would impact at that size. Why can't I find a tablet with a resolution similar to my decade old Sm-t800?

I've owned both - this thing is wayyyy better.
I've owned both, the other is waaaay better.

To help with negative claims some reasoning is good for readers.
The "Plus" makes all the difference. It has 128gb and 8gb memory helping to never fil up on your basic files and apps (work/school silly apps like authenticators and portals/terminals for posting/reading/printing/office docs and cloud services) in addition to ALL your Google (doc, photos, gemini, mail, lens, YT, music...) as well as streaming and music and social apps.
Every day the kids somehow download 30 new silly apps for me to fish through so the non-plus version wont handle that.
the reason the Lenovo does not stand up to the same abuse is due to the fact that it may have an awsome screen and feels smooth it lacks the Samsung touch (out of the box).
All apps syc and Googke does its thing with users and integrates flawlessly with Samsung keyboards and password managers and buds / wearables (unlike the Lenovo).
The key difference is DEX, which allows me to seperate their Work from Playtime.
It creates an official work vibe when they dock the tablet to the tv and its worktime!
The Lenovo seems to prioritize "playtime" with cool graphic suggestions and the moment my kids pick up the Lenovo they open racing or games.

Last was the price - if the lenovo was the same price as the A9+ i would get it but if I need more than a game-screen, I would get the A9+ (Samsung sofware/updates/AI is better)

Last but not least - I have 3 kids and would NOT buy 3 Lenovos ! but I would buy 3 A9+'s
I feel as though the Lenovo is still sitting in the drawer new the livingroom entertainment system while the Sammy is always open in the kitchen (docked to Google Home when charging and dimms at night)

My only regret/qualm is that these samsungs are not "AS GOOD" at being a Google Home or Amazon Show or a Gemini/AI beast yet... so you still need a Nest/Alexa device in the kitchen.

(I got 1 of the A9+ on the last $140 deal via Samsung... then I ordered 2 more!)

Thank you for this. Sounds like this Lenovo is better suited for me. Better screen, available (unlike that A9+) and no Samsung flair ))
I dont need neither google alexa or google assistants and kids no longer interested in my toys si it me only me and perhaps wife, but she prefers her laptop mostly.

Edit: Galaxy tab A9+ 4/64 is actually available new at 149 minus some trade in but obviously lesser spec, still no bueno

I bought it off AliExpress (the one Moku160 linked earlier here).

Then I used the coupon code IFP4LOJ for $10 off. So after taxes it was under $132

I got it last week for the same price open box excellent condition it's better than I expected. Resolution is not that good but it has more cons like sound and useful app like smart connect so that I can use this tablet as a second monitor. 8G Ram, 128G space are good enough as a portable entertainment tablet. I like it.

Heads up, I ordered an Excellent condition one that arrived yesterday.

I took it the closest store to return as soon as it arrived as I opened the box to find no padding and it was trashed.

Large gouges on the back, scrapes and scratches abound. Greasy prints and flakes on the screen. Serial number tag curling and peeling.

Hopefully some get some good ones!

Very similar experience with my Panasonic UB420 player minus the padding issue. I would go in store open box only .. after these two online experiences

edit: these can have the boot loader unlocked and generic android installed for a better experience ( not sure if pen works or not sorry )

Why? I just got the 8/128 A9+ and love it. Not a single issue. I use it to consume content and don't intend to use it for "serious" stuff. That's what my laptop and desktop are for. Fast, responsive, good screen, lightweight, perfect size. Not saying the Lenovo isn't better, just wondering why you think so.
