I will just say 500k isn't the floor, not sure what it is but it's not that.
Agreed... Fidelity and TurboTax are generously offering me a 25% discount. shake head

I'm a self-managed customer, and I'll just confirm that if there is a number that gets you free or cheap TT, it definitely isn't $500k (or in that ballpark), it must be above it.

on the same page from top select "Do it yourself" and then select "Doing Taxes with Desktop Software" , that should take you to the download page. I personally get a $78 deal and not the $5

After downloading and activating the $5 Premier Desktop version, one of the pull down menus allows you to upgrade to Home & Business for an additional $15.

Looking for TT Premier Desktop version.
Can offer AGC + 3 months of the Disney Bundle Trio Basic.
Kindly DM for quick trade. TIA !
Is there some safe way to sell one of the 5 desktop installs I got though this deal? Or would it require I give you my login, or access to the other 4 installs I haven't used yet

License code is tied to an account (w/login).
So yes, it opens up your account to strangers including access to remaining installs.

P.S.: I am good now, and not looking to buy/trade.

I believe one can keep the TT file locally on the PC. If one does not use electronic filing, then the 1040 form should not be visible to others.

For example, I install TT, put in random name, numbers, and download the state software. I can modify all parameters in TT after I disconnect from the internet. Save and print the tax forms.

if using desktop only, then yes...your local copy stays in your system and does not go with the installer.
Also, yes if previously the electronic filing was used then you are not exposing your 1040 either.
However, the point I was raising is once you share the installer/license code, the receipient can install the software until the max 5 redemptions are met.

Installed TT 5x, yes. But I don't think one can download five different states without modifying the program.

Technically, Yes it possible. Economically, probably No.
Additional states can be purchased by paying more.

select customers. that means over 500K
It's higher than 500k... not clear to me what the requirement is, but I'm guessing 1.5M or more... maybe linked to the number of trades you do in the year as well?

When I logged in to Fidelity.com directly, near the bottom of the page it had a section Get TurboTax Online Premium free. I clicked on that and it showed me that offer but if I scrolled past that I saw an offer to get the desktop version of Premier for $5.

Note, this is the first year that I even got the online Premier for free offer. Also, I always advocate for people just buying the Deluxe desktop version because it handles most everything you need. Fidelity didn't offer Deluxe at a special price.
I saw your comment and found the same offer. This is great since I was going to buy a H&R Block software. Thx!

I think the distinction is whether are self-managed or broker managed. We have always been self-managed. When a broker was listed on our account even though we managed it, TT was free. Now that his same has been removed we get the discount.
