Identical models (with different nonsensical chinesium names) are available on amazon for $30. That said, $20 is less than $30, so this is a deal, I just have questions about it's durability.

I bet $20 could buy some deck screws, a little extra wood for braces, and some cinder blocks to prevent ground contact.

That sounds sus, I'm going to need reliable sources backing that up.

Good deal at $20. My brother has this particular one and is solid. I purchased a cheaper version on Amazon and it's a bit flimsy. The upright vertical supports are bowing out. I ended up screwing in a brace on top for ours. For anyone who may not be aware, if you use regular 2x4 pine, it will rot relatively quickly. Use pressure-treated lumber and add some concrete/brick footings to keep it elevated off the ground. You can opt to use other rot-resistant wood species and/or stain, but you'll certainly pay a premium depending on where you live. TU

I totally support anyone who wants to do some DIY. But with this project, if you're already buying lumber and cutting it, you're 90% of the way to just building a storage rack with screws.

Now I ordered one of these for about $30+ highly reviewed via Amazon. This seems like a great deal but as far as having cinder blocks on the bottom, does the ground need to be completely leveled? Also how long for firewood to be considered seasoned?

Great video and idea! I want to build a roof diy for the top part. Many videos on YouTube on how to do it.

Not sure why would buy this when you can make one out of cinder blocks and two by fours for next to nothing

I have screwed 2x8x12s with cinder blocks at the ends and middle, and I just let the weight of the wood smash the blocks into the (clay soil) to the extent that the rails deflect in the middle. As a rule of thumb, 1-2 years - and Google will provide you with exhaustive debates that have already been had over hammering out the fine details of that.

Flip it upside down, add a sheet of plywood and a tablecloth. But if you're willing to redneck it that much, just find your local utility crew and see if they'll give you a cable spool.

I always wondered where people got those spools from, that was helpful, thanks! Smilie

Can't speak for this specific one but I have a similar one for over 15 years and it is still doing its duty. There is not much to them and they are not under any type of stress or have to be strong, the force is all down. I put mine up on large pavers and an additional board across the top to keep it from spreading. You could replicate the functionality of this with a 12 inch piece of scrap 4x4 and some lag bolts or deck screws but none the less.

Check with some local stoners or tweakers too, they always seem to have them lying around.
