That might be a more effective outlet for the annoyance. It can't hurt. I suspect they're in trouble and don't expect shopping there to get more fun in the future.

1. Do I need to have my phone with me in order to receive a Target gift card? The cashier and customer service rep told me that entering the phone number of my Target account wouldn't work. That seems really stupid if it's true. They lost a $300 sale yesterday because of it.
2. If I use a Target gift card to pay, does it count against my threshold if I'm trying to get another gift card? For example, if I use a $30 Target gift card to pay and I have a $100 threshold to get a new $30 Target gift card, do I now need to spend $130 in order to get the gift card?
3. Is there a limit of one Target gift card deal per account? If I did a baby deal yesterday and wanted to do another baby deal today, would I get another gift card?
I couldn't make my purchase in the store yesterday because I didn't have my phone with me so I went home and did it on my computer. The tax was a couple of dollars cheaper, I got free delivery, and I got the gift card. I only did one deal because I'm not sure if I'll get the gift card if I do the same deal again. I'm also buying for two friends wanted me to do the deal for them since I'm the expert (but not at Target lol). The deal is on Huggies baby wipes. Target has the Huggies 11-pack for $16.99. Buy 6 of the 11-packs and it puts you just over $100 and you'll get a $30 gift card. That's $72 + tax for 66 Huggies wipes. Compare that to CVS's $4.49 for each one. $72 will get you 16 packs.
I'm looking for alternatives to CVS. I wish that Target didn't always have to make it so hard to do business with them. Every time I give them another chance, they disappoint me. The cashier was fine but the customer service lady wasn't very friendly and I talked with the manager before I did anything and she told me that I wouldn't have a problem.
My closest store is 24hr and never has anything. I don't think they even DO pick up anymore.
I recently acquired $5 in whatever WAGS money is called, from the store that is closing. It was spacious, clean and pretty friendly. I'm surprised.
The info below about chain-wide closures is from a neighbor, I do not know the source of their info but they sound pretty rational.
Walgreens is closing 1,200 stores, or about 25% of its US locations, due to declining profits, increased competition, and challenges in the pharmacy industry, including lower reimbursement rates for prescriptions and rising costs.
Here's a more detailed breakdown of the reasons:
Declining Profits and Rising Costs:
Walgreens has been struggling with declining profits, partly due to lower reimbursement rates for prescription drugs, which impacts the pharmacy business.
Increased Competition:
The company faces competition from online retailers like Amazon and big-box stores like Walmart and Target, which offer similar products and services.
Shifting Consumer Habits:
Consumers are increasingly shopping online and are more price-sensitive, leading to a decline in foot traffic at traditional brick-and-mortar stores.
Failed Growth Strategies:
Walgreens' attempts to pivot toward healthcare services, such as its investment in VillageMD, have faced challenges and haven't delivered expected profits.
Opioid Litigation:
The company has faced significant costs related to opioid litigation settlements.
Shifting Consumer Habits:
Consumers are increasingly shopping online and are more price-sensitive, leading to a decline in foot traffic at traditional brick-and-mortar stores.
Store Theft:
Walgreens and other retailers have been hit by shoplifting since the pandemic, and have resorted to locking up items or closing high-theft stores.
Walgreens is being acquired by a private equity firm:
According to NPR, Walgreens Boots Alliance has agreed to be acquired by private equity firm Sycamore Partners

DH & I just spent a record amount at Costco, I've been going to Grocery Outlet and buying things at prices I wouldn't pay before. Especially chocolate. Prices were going to go up anyway due to climate change, and its ALL imported so tariffs are going to ramp it up more. The challenge is hiding it so DH doesn't eat it ALL within a week LOL
I think the tariff mess isn't going to just go away even if they continue to be deferred. Other countries and companies outside the USA are going to decide not to play with the chaos and unpredictability. How do they know how much to manufacture if tariffs mean it will priced out of the market for most Americans? And some things (like chocolate) have plenty of worldwide demand, more than supply. The rest of the world will enjoy more supply.
We can't "buy American" on many things-they don't grow here. There isn't currently enough domestic supply to meet demand for necessities - even if they immediately start to build factories it will be YEARS. Any kind of logic you can derive from current events says prices are NOT going down any time soon. Moderately good deal of today is tomorrow's great deal.

I was surprised that something grain based - pasta - is essentially good forever.
Some "solid" diary, like sour cream and yogurt - lasts for months if you invert it to eliminate the air pocket on top.
I got Pillsbury crescents (in the tube) for .33 ea at Grocery Outlet, now expired for 3 weeks and they baked fine yesterday. Read online canned biscuity things are good 1 month from date on can, and then I can freeze them after I bake them.
Since I'm going on about food and cost, I've been using vegan eggs when I bake cakes and brownies. 1 T. ground flax + 3T water subs for one egg. I get golden flax or there's dark specks in light colored cakes. Cheapest I've found is in bulk at Sprouts.
For brownie mix, I usually use a can of black beans. Drain off liquid (I don't try to get it all out) and refill can with water (with beans still in it). I use immersion blender to puree. Add to brownie mix - no other ingredients. (I was given the beans by a fellow couponer that was moving, they're 9 years expired. No issues).
