I'm sure that Marcia will start a new thread when she pops back in.

I finished Unbelievable, which was an 8-part series on Netflix about a serial rapist. It was very good but they could've cut it in half and I wouldn't have missed anything. The acting was excellent except for some of the banter between the detectives. Marie and Lilly were very compelling as the rape victims but Amber got lost in the shuffle. I would recommend watching Unbelievable. It's very different from what you'd see on SVU. There's a lot to debate about the police officer in the first episode. He clearly messed up but even Marie's foster parents thought that she wasn't telling the truth.

The Pitt on MAX is very good. This is the first season, has 15 episodes.
I binge watched The Pitt. It's like the first season of ER without the great actors. There wasn't anybody that I cared about so I can only give The Pitt a C rating.

I haven't watched it yet, but a friend of mine who is an ER doctor said The Pitt is more like real world than any other medical show.

I liked that the show went hour by hour instead of day by day. I thought that the medical stuff was too graphic. I didn't care about any of the characters or story lines. The show needed Dr Green, Dr Ross, and Nurse Hathaway. Noah Wylie (Robbie) was Dr Carter in ER. I liked him much more as Dr Carter than as Robbie. Robbie has issues but I didn't care about them. I was interested in Dr Langdon but they didn't explore his character enough. There were a few doctors that I couldn't stand but none that I really liked. It was all stuff that I've seen before.

I was well worth watching. My big complaint is that the show could've been so much better than it was. I watched the entire show over 2 days. If I didn't like it, I would've stopped watching after a couple of episodes.

I think that I was too harsh on my review of The Pitt. Maybe it hit too close to home since I've been in the ER so much over the last 3 years. The ambulance ride is intense but my time in the ER has been pretty boring. I only see the doctor 2 or 3 times and each visit is very short. The nurse is in there a lot at the beginning and then I hardly see her. It takes 8 hours for my troponin results to come back (they run the test twice) so most of the time is spent waiting. The tv only gets a couple of network stations (if it works at all) and the bed is super uncomfortable. My monitor is constantly beeping red because my heart rate and oxygen are low. 8 hours of non-stop beeping can drive you crazy. I have an irregular heart beat so they're always messing around with my electrodes. Pulling the electrodes off is almost as painful as the heart attack. After they say that they're going to admit me, the wait for a room can be another 4 to 24 hours. I'll be on morphine the whole time but I'll still be in pain. My worst experience was when they gave me a potassium shot. They ran it fast because my potassium was so low and it was painful beyond belief. It felt like my arm was going to explode. They could use it to torture people. I forget why but I couldn't talk so I couldn't tell them to slow it down. Anyway, my experience in the ER has been pretty boring. The ambulance ride is crazy when there doing everything to save you but I've never crashed in the ER so I guess I'm lucky. It's a weird feeling when I'm crashing. It's like I go out of my body and I'm watching over everything from up above me. I want to laugh but I can never figure out why.

My big complaint with The Pitt was how they handled the jerk who was having chest pains. I don't want to spoil what happened but there were so many things wrong with it.

Could it be the drugs? I often laugh, sometimes very inappropriately, when I am on some IV drugs. I cannot help it.

It said on the internet that nervous laughter in this situation is a stress mechanism and doesn't mean that I don't think that the situation is serious. I don't actually laugh but I have a very strong urge to laugh and I have to stop myself from doing it. The out of body stuff may also be a stress mechanism. The whole thing happens so quickly. You can be sitting there on a Thursday morning with nothing wrong and a minute later have a team of people working on you to save your life. It's a lot to process. The paramedics are incredible. The ER doctors and nurses are incredible. The emergency personnel have saved my life multiple times. If I said anything that didn't indicate that, I'm sorry. They have so many people to deal with. I don't know how they do it.
