Thanks, I'm covered!
That's unbelievable. Haven't seen this come up.. Made me chuckle, but it's ridiculous to say the least.

Los Angeles isn't a fun place to be with all of the ICE raids and checkpoints. Old people are getting thrown into vans with no regard for their health and safety. These are people who have been here for 20 years and are valuable members of our society. These aren't drug dealers and criminals. What the hell is going on with our country?

pardoned J6ers needed jobs?

Miller's quota of 3k deported per day?

The stories coming from the English-speaking people who survived the detention centers are horrific. People who were here legally, tourists or working, had some QUESTION about their paperwork kept for extended periods (the centers are for-profit, so the longer they keep them, the more $)
report being cold, underfed & not even enough water. Moved to a different facility at 3am, shackled at wrist & ankles.

worse than prisons

You won't be seeing many visiting Canadians anymore.

It's going to hell; and there is one person to blame.

Yep, and plenty of MAGA who voted for Trump having their spouses stripped away from them when the spouse has been in the US for many years.

Farmers in Texas who can't manage their fields because even the hispanics who are here legally are afraid of being taken away, so they don't show up to work.

Roofers who have had the same crew for 20+ years who now have no crew.

It's sad when the thing that unites us is our dislike of the president.

Have you been to Dollar Tree lately? I hear there is another price increase. Most items will be in the $1.50-$1.75 range now.
There's been alot of complaining on the local ND pages about this.

I was there this past week. I didn't notice the price increase like that specifically, but I was surprised at the number of $4, $5 and $10 items.

Boxes of drink packets at Dollar Tree were $1.25, but are still $1 at Dollar General. I am reducing the amount of soda I drink and am really enjoying the various flavors DG has available.

And DG has that $X off $Y coupon for Saturdays (or usually does here).

Yes, it's $5/$25. There's one in the app and most times when you make a purchase, you'll get another coupon for the following Saturday. The only problem is if the system doesn't accept the coupon, you have to have another coupon to use (except when you're using the app). Lucky for me, at least one of the stores nearby saves the coupons people leave behind through the week. They have been kind enough to give me a coupon to take to another store when they were out of something I wanted. I then mentioned it to the second store and they sometimes also save them, though not as religiously.

I wasn't aware of this. It's a bummer. If things are going to be at the higher price, I'll probably go to Target more.Target has some great prices these days especially on their own brand. I've noticed that Target is now much cheaper than Walmart. I've done in-store price comparisons of things I needed to buy and Target has won every time.

I have been in Target exactly one time in the last three years. I wouldn't have gone in when I did, except I've had some gift cards I needed to use up and DH needed some new men's briefs. I still have about $30 I need to use, so I will go back to do that. I will do my best not to spend new money there though. Why? Their response to DEI and the way they dropped support of LGBTQ+ like a hot potato as soon as the new regime began. Plenty of other places I can support.

Due to my health, my concern is where I can get to by bus. CVS is too expensive on a lot of things that I need and I've found that Target is much cheaper than Walmart and Target is also much easier for me to get to. A year ago, I could walk everywhere but those days are long gone. I've heard that CVS, Walmart, and Target aren't the greatest companies to work for but employees tend to stay there for a long time so I don't know.
