Just in case you're not aware this is on the am4 platform which is at the end of life. You won't have anything to upgrade to CPU wise. This will work very well for several years but you'll need a new motherboard and RAM next time you upgrade.

This came out in July of 2024. I think you are referring to the 5800"x" not xt.

Wow. I got mine "on sale" at the time for $350! It's been a real workhorse for about 3 years. That is, it's been running continuously since day one, 24/7. There's always the next best thing, but i Couldn't have asked for much more...

Main productivity box. Runs base os and 3 to 5 VMs, as necessary for distinct tasks. Never turned off, save for maintenance. Conditioned power. Undervolted and TDP throttled to ensure max performance at minimum heat. It's a sweet box.

AM4 cannot be killed... Still a solid platform if you're on an extremely tight budget and I still believe with the right setup you could potentially skip AM5 altogether.

That said, you can still get a 5700x3d on ali express from established seller for about $140 - $150 if you're willing to wait a couple of weeks on shipping.

As far as non x3d chips and quick shipping goes, this definitely isn't terrible.

Fully agree. Been researching for like 3 months and that is my conclusion as well. Unfortunately AMD stopped making the AMD Ryzen 7 5700x3d. Prices have risen since then and Amazon is selling one for $250 now.
