Good deal or nah? I think it's pretty good, with the i9 and 32gb of RAM.

Correct. I just got this Open Box from Best Buy with the i7 and 16gb of RAM for $779 and that was a good deal, the build quality on these are really nice. If these are similar, like open box returns, this is def a good deal. 90 day warranty from B&H.

Yeah, but you HAVE to put used/open box in the title. 101.

It says "Like new with open box and full manufacturer's warranty or 1-year B&H warranty".

The thing that kills me is these large 16" laptops not including a dedicated numpad. I use it enough that it matters. It's something that is excusable on something smaller than 15.4" and no I don't want to have to lug around a separate numpad if I'm already lugging around a 16" laptop.
Otherwise looks like a really good deal. Almost pulled the trigger until I saw the keyboard.

Would this run medium level video games like WoW or League of Legends without overheating?

Done. I tried to edit before but I don't think it saved for some reason.

I have the 13700H version which I put 32gb of RAM after receiving. It's run everything I've thrown at it at 100+ fps 2560x1600. LoL would probably get like 200 fps

Costco's version (which has i7) has been out of stock since their Black Friday promotion ended. It was a very good deal for $899 and I haven't seen anything similar yet for that price. Current price is $1199 out of stock.

It will get warm, and so will other laptops. If you buy this, go to HP Command Center app and set your laptop to Performance Mode. It will do its best to cool it.

I don't like the numpad keyboard because the keyboard is not centered with the screen, but I understand your sentiment. It is kind of rare to find a no keypad on a 16" screen.

I completely agree. I hate the new designs with keyboard not centered with the screen. This one is a rare find.
