im not a heavy reader so screen doesn't matter much to me. my issue is that I can only read for 5 min max on my mac/iphone/ipad, and then get easily distracted by other apps/alerts. but i can focus on reading when using kindle. i think im probably not alone. although i prefer 7" screen size.
for people who take notes frequently while reading, i agree this is a good option.

I'm not trying to come in and poo poo on a deal, but my proceeding question is out of genuine curiosity.
Would it not be better to buy one of the tablets from Lenovo that are even cheaper and can do more than just read book? Or an iPad for only a hundred more?

How does that work for you? I read online that's it's slow for internet performance. And I read mostly manhwa and manhua (because it's colored unlike manga)
I assume kindle is black and white only?

Just bought this deal a couple of days ago sending in my $15 Kindle I bought of of mercari for the 20% off. Seems like a great deal but I'll see about the functionality when it arrives. Not really an amazon fan and was trying to decide between this or the Kobo elipsa 2 but for $210 I couldn't resist.

I use mine regularly and I haven't seen any ads on it.
I heard someone I know say they got rid of their kindle and switched to iPad as reader full time because it made sense to be able to read all types of book formats, mainly pdfs without additional hassle. Are there factors that would justify investment in kindle? I heard about reading comfort and battery life. Curious of there are other non-specification benefits.
Second, how good is the parm rejection? The only good writing tablet I ever owned was a Fujitsu before touch screens became a commodity. How good good is it on this? All pictures and videos show the hand hovering while writing and not touching the screen.

Battery life is a major issue for me as I am always forgetting to recharge devices like phones and tablets. I am not a heavy reader on the Kindle (maybe an hour each day) and I only recharge about once a month. The other devices need to be charged much more frequently.
I was happy to see the positive review of the Scribe here as I think most early reviews of this first version have not been great. I think the Scribe is more of a niche device depending on what/how you read while a Kindle paperwhite is more universal as a reader. Just my opinion.
Moreover- although this is like new, it is a used product.
Maybe I am missing something?

Personally I don't like handwriting notes, the handwriting to text would be a giant feature for me.
