The taste profile and usage is completely different. Chinese / Japanese sesame oils are usually made with roasted sesame seeds, which they then extract to give the oil a very nutty flavor that is usually reddish brown (it is used as a finishing oil because it is very strong, and cooking with it would make it go "off"). Contrast this with Indian sesame which is colorless and much more mild in flavor (reminds me of any cheap oil with a hint of sesame flavor). There is a reason there is a massive price difference between the two.
Important note for those unaware:
toasted sesame oil is usually used as a finishing oil.
I add it at the very end of making fried rice, but I don't cook it a long time.

Never tried this brand because it's usually really expensive. Other brands are often diluted (if you buy this stuff in the store, always check that it isn't 99% canola oil!). The smaller local Asian store sells Oriental Mascot in 16.9 oz bottles for a decent price, usually even less fancy brands are pretty pricey for pure stuff. So this is a great deal for this brand.

Nissin Demae Sesame Ramen comes with a tiny, probably 5-10 ml pouch of sesame oil that's so strong it smells like burning rubber until it's diluted over the noodles. I'd love to find extra-strength sesame oil like that.

Heard this was good, but i ended up with some from my loacally Aldi's. I take some, and put a little in a 1 oz jar, and freeze both since i dont use it that fast. I then pull out small jar hour or 2 before cooking my fried rice (thaws fast), and use as a finishing oil with no heat....as others have mentioned.

Try to get sesame oil from Indian stores - they usually have 1 liter 100% pure sesame oil for around $10

I've used both, and both are excellent. It depends on your use case. I'd say Kadoya definitely has a stronger sesame flavor (it's like dark and smokey compared to the rest) and is also probably my favorite. La Tourangelle is definitely lighter if folks are sensitive to sesame.

I have a couple of Misto bottles for this and truffle oil. Works for me.

I just got the deal just now. Try this link (the link in the OP didn't work for me either):
https://www.amazon.com/Tourangell...005WXMPMQ/

I usually get Mogami Japanese Toasted Sesame Oil at my local Asian market. I'll have to compare the two. The Mogami has a really nice strong toasted sesame flavor to it. The price/quality was always my go-to for toasted sesame oil.
