I just picked up two of these a couple weeks ago at costco for $49.97 each with the addon hose and fuel filter. This price is not slick.

Price may not be slick but a few years ago, we lost power for a week in freezing temps in Houston. The fireplace was not doing the job well at all. 4 of us huddled in one room the entire time with this heater. It was a lifesaver and in the moment money was no option. Great to have in an emergency.

I think all propane heaters produce a certain amount of carbon monoxide so prob best used with a CO detector in the same room. Product does have this so that's good: "With the Oxygen Depletion Sensor (ODS) and accidental tip-over safety shut-off you can be sure that you will enjoy years of comfortable indoor safe heat.**"

Not sure if it's slick or not, but these work great when you have power outages.

I actually use the larger size one to heat up my house.

Last time these were up, it looked like the difference in the Massachusetts/Canada version is that the seller isn't claiming these are indoor safe. This could be a regulatory difference in these jurisdictions, it isn't clear if there's any actual difference in the hardware.

Regular price is $79.99. They go on sale for about $68 a few times a year at various retailers.

That is the closeout price from Costco, but I agree. The additional items Costco provides are worth it. You can then use a standard 20lb propane tank to run it.

I use mine for ice fishing, and it works fantastic.

Thank you for the post. I ended up buying my first-ever propane space heater from Walmart online.

Looking around for the 1-liter propane tanks, I found they were on sale at Home Depot for $10.95 for a 2-pack (Bernzomatic brand). That 2-pack costs $27.99 on Amazon, and a single cylinder costs $19.09.

You can also buy the refillable ones too that size.

There is also an adapter to use the 25 pound tanks, but it's against code to use the big tanks inside, cough cough.

I wasn't aware of the existence of refillable tanks. (I am a newbie.)

Do you refill the tanks at a store or from your own 25-lb tank? Which stores offer refilling, if any?
Thanks.

We bought the 12k BTU Mr. Heater MH12B hunting buddy a couple weeks ago from Walmart fo $69. Barely heats our insulated two car garage in NoVA to a comfortable temperature. It has electronic ignition rather than piezo, which is nice.
