I am surprised there has not been more sales on these. At my local Best Buy they have shelves of these left over from Black Friday they can not sell.

Funny thing is that 2nd gen can't pair to my wife's iPhone 7 Plus (still going strong). So she's still using a Watch Series 3...also still going strong.

I'm getting a little tired of software forcing me out of good hardware Smilie

But the next iOS update will probably take up 90% of her storage anyway!

I'm still rocking an SE 1st gen, it's working fine except the microphone stopped working, so no Siri or text dictation. Watches have a surprisingly long lifespan from my experience. Still, this one should be down in the low $100s all the time.

Yes unless something has changed drastically. We've had a 0, 1, a pair of 3, and a few SE and none of them were ever obsolete -- you just lose whatever fancy new changes the updates provide.

Yeah, I got a deal on mine a year ago ($129), the battery life is down to 85%, and they want $99 for a new battery. Thanks but no thanks.

All Apple Watches require an iPhone for setup. If you forget your phone at home or safely lock it away at the gym, the GPS version can connect to previously trusted WiFi networks for internet updates, and even if you don't have WiFi the watch will still tell time, count your steps, and remember all the PDA info (like your calendar and contacts) that was previously synced to it.
