Different feature/technology - QLED is a layer of quantum dots to enhance color vibrance/reproduction. Mini-LED is the type of backlight, mini-LED having many dimming zones for better overall perceived contrast (better black levels while having brighter highlights on screen at same time, plus all the granularity in between).

This TV is both.

On the fence with this. I want to get it for my Dads living room. Need a wider angle of viewing which this IPS will provide. Worried about OLED as my dad falls asleep on the couch all the time and the chance of burn in.
As a true Slickdealer I'm thinking I need to wait for a great deal, just not a sale price that you can get anywhere.

This is very slightly worst than the holiday deal from Costco on the u7. The holiday deal had a 5 year warranty for the same price. That being said still a great price on a TV that I've been very happy with. I go back and fourth between this and a 55 inch b2 in my office and there's not a noticable quality difference to me.
Word to the wise, the Google play card is from hisense and not Costco and it's not just bundled in. There's hoops you have to go through to redeem it.

Get it. I got one at Christmas and it's amazing. Build quality is there and ips screen handles glare and viewing angles great. I'm surprised how good the sound is with the built in sub.
