Why do you need to wall mount to figure out if the tv works

Purchased at this price just before Christmas. But the tv screen was busted when I opened it. I was able to work with returns and sent it back. Just got my refund yesterday and debating buying again or waiting til Superbowl and find local. Return was fairly painless. Sent pics, boxed back up, the same carrier reached out for a pickup date and they came and got it. Once they received the TV my refund was received.

Most people cannot wall mount a 65" tv by themselves. They'd be foolish to try in my opinion. The installation would then have to be scheduled which could easy go pass 2 days.

Also, issues with new televisions don't always present themselves within 48 hours.
The issues being discussed are broken or damaged. 2 days are enough time to determine if the tv is either of those.

If you're talking about physical damage and does it turn on only. Then yes I can agree that can be determined within 2 days. I was also thinking of picture quality which not many people would consider before the TV is mounted.

I bought this exact deal before Christmas, the TV is great. To see the TV's true capabilities you must get non-compressed video. I want to say all streaming systems use H265 or something to save data but at the cost of quality. Great TV and a great price, no issues at all with greentoe or the authorized seller.

h265 is considered the same quality at half the bitrate for 4k content

streaming uses "low" bitrates (compared to blu-ray). it would look worse if it wasn't h265 (if it even is)

Are we thinking it's going to drop further in price once the release date for the C5 is out?
Yes, closer to March/April it will drop a bit more at greentoe for sure, then closer to August stores will start clearing it out for $999 (sams, costco, bestbuy) seems like it's a pattern every year.

I don't know what compression was used when I was streaming dune prophecy but I was disappointed with the quality. Thinking it was compressed I downloaded some episodes and the quality was much better, night and day difference for me. I download the movies if I want to truly enjoy the quality of this tv. Cheers

Put the stand on it and hook it up before you wall mount to check for quality. It's that easy. I do that every time no matter where I buy a TV from. Easy Peezy. You are not going to find it cheaper then $1299 which includes tax and shipping.

Because improper wall mounting might make it broken out of the box...
