I have the owlet which has more history and usage than this Anker/eufy brand. I would never rely of these 100% but the owlet did good to keep the wifes nerves at bay as an extra measure while practicing safe sleep. The only issues we had with the owlet was that we didn't regularly clean it so at times the base for the sensor would ring saying can't see any readings. There is another sound for actual low oxygen. Which we only ever heard once after using it for over a year. That was the only time it misoperated while we used it. The battery life is crazy long. There's no issues with that for overnight usage. It can easily go over 12 hours.

My only concern I would give if you wanted to try this one is that it seems newer by a company that does a lot of technology. They're not specialized for child care products. I have eufy doorbell and door lock and those work great.

For the nerds, there's an integration for home assistant that someone made that allows you to get readings from the owlet sock. I never automated anything but it pulls the oxygen level, heart rate, movement detection and sock battery level.

Also last caveat was owlet got hit with a FDA takedown because they called it a medical tool but it was not certified as one. I believe their newer models might have the cert but I bought mine after they got hit from FDA and before they changed to the new sock.
Not sure what you were talking about, but this appears to be a baby monitor to track sleep pattern and heart rate, which in theory could be very useful as some parents just worry about if the baby is still breathing fine or SIDS. I am one of them.

As if the bars of the crib isn't enough we're giving them ankle monitors too! Teach 'em young how to be "in the system".

Pretty sure most parents are already sleep deprived. Now you want to analyze when they were sleep deprived? Smilie

Unless your baby has a special circumstance, audio monitors are fine. Parents obsessing with video and motion sensing are something else.

Do not underestimate the anxiety of first time parents. I know we were a train wreck running in an out of ER quite often 😁

I have eufy cameras, and for the most part they're good. The pop up banners in the app are incredibly annoying though.

The use case for these devices is not solely to monitor sleep just because you want to. Anecdotal example, one of our children had Laryngomalacia as a newborn and required additional monitoring when they slept. At times it was nerve-racking.

Our Dr did not recommend using an ankle monitor.....but they said if we really wanted to use one, his patients tend to use the Owlet (MSRP $300). We ultimately just had child sleep next to us longer before putting them into their room/nursery

Having said all that, I would approach an item like this (especially refurbished) with caution

Not sure about baby monitor socks, but I found that video does help me assess the situation, especially in a blacked out room. Babies cry, and video can help you determine if there's an emergency, if they need soothing, or if there's a chance they will go back to sleep.

We've been using one of these on our little one for a bit over a year now without any major issues, we were deciding between this and the Owlet and reviews seemed similar enough to make the savings worth it, especially if you filter by most recent on Amazon. I'd be hesitant to go with a refurb but if you're really on a tight budget it might be worth a shot, biggest complaint I'd have would be that it doesn't charge sometimes despite seemingly having a good connection to the base, but if you make sure the charging icon lights up it does charge consistently at that point.

Has there been any use cases where these types of devices actually save the life of a baby? Just curious. I know I was anxious when my first one was born but we never considered this type of monitoring.. I think it would add to anxiety as opposed to take away from it.

Don't buy it, just buy a SNOO or any kind of smart bed instead.
