Yes Bosch routers are considered one of the best of not the best. Contemplating.

I bought that same (Skil) router kit not too long ago; too late to return it, but I did pay $120 and not the $149 price. If I'd paid 149 I might be more inclined to return, I guess it depends on what you paid, your use cases, etc.

Here's a good review on the Bosch vs. DeWalt. TL;DR: both are excellent, with each having some advantages over the other, which at the end of the day may come down to personal use cases. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JhO5q9BdWsw

Meanwhile here's a decent one (different YT channel) for the Skil kit you have: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8cT_LuS59Y .

How important is a router when building cabinets? I'm redoing some of the panels on my VW camper van that had water damage with baltic birch and I noticed some edges have a lip. There are also some rounded edges. Is this the tool to get?

How have you liked it? Maybe the biggest reason compelling me to switch is the Bosch community is going to be so much larger with way more aftermarket options/support

Went to checkout online and got a message saying the item was out of stock, scrambled over to mobile and was able to push the order through. Now when you click on the link, no item comes up. Hope my order is fulfilled.

EDIT: Disregard, it's back.

Seems like it's selling quick so if you're on the fence, buy now. Camelcamelcamel showing it doesn't go this low often.
Now I just need a great deal on the benchtop table.

For small cabinets like you are building, I might look at the smaller routers.

I have the Bosch Colt - https://www.boschtools.com/us/en/...060160A71A

It is a palm router, easy to control and nice for finer work. Plenty of power for small rabbets like you seem to be asking about.
