Battery Life
Overall, the battery life is decent. At 60Hz and 35–40% brightness, I get around 7–8 hours of normal browsing, video playback, and light programming.
Switching to 120Hz reduces the battery life to about 5–6 hours.
Because the screen is very glossy, I often have to increase brightness to see it clearly, which further lowers battery life.
Display
Although the display has plenty of nits (brightness), the glossy finish somewhat negates that advantage.
In comparison, the Galaxy Book4 Edge—despite having fewer nits—uses an anti-glare coating, making its screen look amazing. Surprisingly, it feels much brighter at lower brightness settings than this glossy display.
Performance
The Snapdragon X Plus (or Elite) found in devices like the Galaxy Book4 Edge, Lenovo Slim 7X, and Surface Laptop 7 feels very snappy in everyday tasks such as app opening and web browsing.
In comparison, the Ryzen AI 9 processor in this laptop, while powerful, doesn't feel as quick and responsive in those same tasks.

Performance- 32GB RAM
- Windows OS
- 120Hz refresh rate
- Face login (Windows Hello)
- No Auto-dimming display
- privacy webcam
- RGB keyboard lighting
then the MacBook Air is likely a better choice.Personally i feel ASUS Vivobook is a better value for the money if you need features like higher RAM, Windows OS, 120Hz refresh rate, or Windows Hello face login. However, if these features aren't important to you, the MacBook Air is the overall better choice. For Macbook air m3 in real-world usage with light tasks and some programming, I achieved 13–15 hours of battery life with 40% brightness. Macbook air m3 has better anit glare.

PerformanceCan you please tell me your take on the build quality. I saw in some reviews that the top of the laptop shell is flexing. Wondering if that is of any concern?

Performance1 – Power On. Sometimes it works with 1 press. Sometimes it works with 2 or 3 or 4 presses. Sometimes if I press it once, it will turn on right away. Sometimes I press it once and wait maybe 10 seconds it will eventually come on. Not sure what the problem is.
2 – Audio crackling noise while on battery power. You can google this and see other people with the same problem but no solutions. Some suggested installing drivers from 2019, which I don't want to do. The audio doesn't have random crackling noise while plugged in, but if I'm on battery power, the speakers, wired and wireless headphones will all have random crackling noises. It's because of the power savings on the Realtek driver and there's no way to disable that with the new Realtek control panel. Maybe there will be a software update... eventually...
3 – External monitor via USB C / Thunderbolt – If I attach an external monitor via the Thunderbolt USB-C port, it won't get recognized. It gives a device error and won't recognize the monitor at all. The same monitor / cable works with my gaming laptop and also works with a friend's Macbook Pro. This seems to be an Asus issue as you can google it and find plenty of people having this problem. No solutions found, although the external monitor works with an Asus X13 from 2022 via the non-Thunderbolt USB C port.
4 - Asus proprietary power charging - I have an Anker 67W PD charger but the laptop sees it as a "slow" charger and won't charge fast. It recommends the 65W PD charger that came with the laptop which obnoxiously doesn't have folding power prongs. Seems like Asus pulled an Apple and want people to buy their proprietary charging bricks.
5 - I hate the keyboard - it's nice to type on but you can hardly see the keys under many conditions. You can't see the keys during the day or in a bright room with the backlights turned on. You can barely make out the keys at night with a light either with the backlight on or off. Apparently this is a common complaint on the Asus Vivobook series.
6 - Mine was silver but I read a lot of complaints about finger print magnet on the black version.
