Had to wait until today to buy and it was hard to find one in the north Phoenix area. I picked one up and was surprised at how heavy it was. Concerned about carryon weight limits.

Haven't had time to evaluate it yet.

It's probably going to be a problem with int'l flights where it seems 16-18lb is the limit but domestic seems to be fine where 35lb+ is the limit. I just ordered one and had to look up carry on limit. Given the 15.25lb product weight I would be confident whatever is inside will not get crushed.

On domestic flights I've never had my carryon weighed before, the checked baggage yes, pretty much every flight but carry on it think they don't care because you'll be the one putting it in the overhead bin, not their employees.

Yes, primarily expensive camera equipment.

Unsure about domestic, but United has no weight limitation for carry-on luggage on Int'l flights FWIW
I believe this applies to United flights operated by ANA, etc...

the only starlink that will fit in an Apache case i believe, would be the Starlink Mini in the 3800 (extremely tight, not advisable b/c you have to remove foam) or the 4800 (advisable, you can have foam protection)

Apache 4800 (not on sale now). Comes in many colors

Thanks. I'll have to go in there and see what I can find. It is pretty sturdy but I'd like to get a case for it to throw it in the back of the truck with less worry.

i've seen people use these types of hard cases b/c they are waterproof and very durable.

and i've seen people use cheaper water-resistant options from home depot like the husky pro totes that have the gasket (i don't think they are rated to be actually submerged feet of water, but they are rainproof and splash proof). you can get them for $20-$30 depending on the size, much larger and more useful, and perfect for moving in/out of your vehicle. they also are covered under Husky's lifetime warranty. people like the larger size of totes sometimes b/c they can have a power station in there or a wad of battery banks for the starlink, along with other misc accessories supplies and a mobile retractable stand or grip mount etc. basically an all in 1 grab n go starlink box. i've seen people put these in the back of trucks, stacked, and tied down via the cargo hooks (1 box will be power stations, 1 box will be foldable solar panels, the other box will be starlink and other comms)

I am using a tote right now, thanks. I am looking for something a little better at protecting it but it isn't a huge deal. Not going to spend 300 on a dish I can replace for 300.... I'll probably just keep doing what I am doing I guess. Thanks for the info.

I ordered one but it hasn't shipped yet. I bought the Pelican Storm iM2500 on sale for $120 back in 2019 and it's solid. The weight on the Pelican is 11lbs and this one is 15lbs which looks very solid. The measurement looks very similar for both. If the quality is similar then this $50 deal is a steal.
