Fun fact: Most chocolate comes from two countries in Africa
To be more precise, I believe most COCOA comes from Africa. Its not chocolate until its mixed with sugar, milk and other ingredients, which can vary widely to make it chocolate. Nothing wrong with cocoa from Africa.

"Red 40 is an FDA-approved synthetic dye, but recently, it has gotten a lot of press about hyperactivity concerns in children and allergic reactions in sensitive individuals," Washington, D.C.-based dietitian and diabetes educator Caroline Thomason, RD, CDCES, tells USA TODAY. On Jan. 15, the FDA officially banned Red No. 3, leading to further interest in red 40.

They should all be colorless so we feel like we're in a Soviet country.

Costco occasionally puts their 62-ounce containers on sale for 19 cents/ounce -- so about the same deal for plain M&M's but a better price for the peanut variety. (I know not everyone shops at Costco, but I thought I'd mention it for those who do!)

chocolate doesnt expire, especially hard coated one
Maybe not 'expire' in the sense that it goes bad but it sure does get stale, at least non-coated chocolate. Source: Personal experiences with coworkers bringing in old Halloween candy they found while spring cleaning.
