Proprietary blades, even though they're labeled as universal.
Majority of the reviews are from people who received the product for free; thus the high rating.
Sorting through actual paid customer reviews reveals a lot of them failing after 6+ months.

Price is very attractive though.

This is an oscillating tool that goes back and forth instead of a rotary tool like the 8250. Both are useful in some cases but mostly different ones.

I would avoid. Dremel makes rotary tools. Anything else they make seems like an experiment to me.

Bosch owns Dremel and has the same manufacturing and quality control. Thats why some of the 12v batteries can be used on both tools. I'm on the Dewalt platform being an electrician but i own a couple of Bosch tools and a rotary Dremel for home use and they have all held up well over the years.

This would be awesome if on the same battery as their rotary tools. No need to have another ~18v battery laying around

Works with Bosch 18v batteries. A simple washer can be added under the blade mounting lug to be compatible with all standard blades.

If you're not into Bosch 18v tools, then the DeWalt deal at $99 might be the better choice. Home Depot internet number 321871969
